Great to see the preventative work carries on regardless of what "May" happen, so hopefully you can have a positive result. This is LAND MANAGEMENT to the enth degree, but well worth it. Hope it all turns out well. Take care and thanks for sharing again, because unless there is a disaster, we will not here about it on regular news here in the UK.

There is no way to prepare for every contingency, but an eruption inside the berm is much less likely though not impossible.

If it happens 200 meter outside of the berm those berms won’t make a difference either. These berms only help when the lava has the space to spread out and be redirected.

The power plant has evacuated all there employees. Grindavik business owners, residents are being asked to evacuate Now. But, the blue lagoon stays open

Let us hope that the Blue Lagoon berms do not instead make for a lava containment. The shortest route for lava is geometrically directly vertically. I envisage many hindsight-derived lessons will be learnt in due course; not least the unpredictability of conjecture and statistical prediction dependence. The warning of the next eruption is likely to be too brief for any effective vacating of possibly the most definitely foreshortened vacations. Hopefully a lot of quake activity will give early warning and nobody is physically harmed.

Those hard working folks should get to use the BL for free (as long as it's still safe and functioning).

The Blue Lagoon is probably where it wil happen. The magma pressure is right underneath them. I would not want to be there, they were having pressure under the bore-holes where do you think the pressure is the greatest? I would not be swimming there, and the lagoon should close, full stop.

Man made. It is fed by the outflow ("waste" water) of the geothermal power plant next to it.

No refunds if there is an evacuation? You said, you were only there to 2 hours a week. Can anyone enter the Blue Lagoon or do you have to pay, have reservations, etc. Is there still a guard on the road?
