⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Walking New Croton Dam & Croton Gorge Park, Westchester, NY

Ойын-сауық

I walk around Croton Gorge Park and walk across the New Croton Dam in Westchester County, NY.
Google Maps Location: goo.gl/maps/BztHs5wwMj1fsoHg8
From Wikipedia:
"Croton Gorge Park is a park in Cortlandt, New York owned and operated by Westchester County. It consists of 97 acres (39 ha) at the base of New Croton Dam. The park is a popular venue for fishing, picnicking, sledding and cross country skiing. The Old Croton Trail begins in the park, which also includes a baseball field and an impressive fountain occasionally operated with high pressure water from the reservoir. The fountain was reopened in 2000 after having been out of service since the mid twentieth century.
The road over the top of the dam is one of four arteries for crossing the Croton River (only three of the bridges connect to public roads at both ends). Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, this road has been closed to non-emergency vehicles as a security precaution, though it remains open to pedestrians and bicycles. Previously, school buses had used the road as the best route available."

Thanks for this video, I REALLY enjoyed it. I'll admit I have stopped watching your State of Emergency videos because I find them depressing (sorry, I know others like them but we are all different and that's what makes the world a great place, to have us all differing) and they make me feel down and sad. This video, however, lifted my spirits tremendously. It was so great to see people enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors as best they can in the current situation. Thank you Ken.

Good video ActionKid! The neighborhood I used to live in in Putnam County was located just behind the West Branch Reservoir that feeds water into the Kensico Reservoir in Armonk/Valhalla, then into Hillview in Yonkers, and finally to the boroughs of NY. Amazingly vital infrastructure that is often taken for granted by the locals of the metro area, especially when considering much of it was built well over a century ago.

@Greg I say this because here in Colombia we cannot go out and walk every day to run errands and buy food, for example, there are days when only women can go out, and there are days when only men can go out. In addition to all of the above, we have a citizen identity number that tells us which day we should go out. The police can fine us $300 if we do not comply with these government regulations.

When we took my cousin on the tour he stopped mid tour to ask the guide, "What do you do when you have a leak?" The guide told him, they do not use the word leak, they refer to it as "seepage." About a half hour later my cousin raised his hand again and asked "Excuse me, Sir? Where can I take a seepage?"
