Walking in Petionville, Port au Prince, Haiti
I am walking in Petionville, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Petionville is one of the modern suburbs of Port-au-Prince. There is a lot of nightlife and restaurants here. This is a bustling city and there is a lot going on.
I started my walk from Royal Oasis Hotel and ended at Pompe Gasoline Sol. I showing the streets of Haiti and everyday life.

@Robert Hamilton Port au Prince represents only 20% of the country, this is where we find corrupt politicians who can easily be bribed by some opportunistic foreigners. if you've done business there you know the clintons have held this country for quite some time, money from the earthquake and so on, again thanks to the corrupt politicians who love to hug the foreigners behind. I am sure you know that my second home has enough natural resources for every Haitian to live a prosperous life in their homeland. But unfortunately France, America and other foreigners did not let the first black republic shine. i'm not hating, I'm just stating facts.

Although Mr. Greatness posted on KZread this walkthrough while in Petionville, Haiti during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I just wonder was if this walkthrough happened DURING the pandemic. I saw no one with any face masks for the virus protection. It is like no one was worried about getting sick. It, Petionville, is also rumored to be a well-off section of Haiti compared to other sections of the country. We did see upscale, late-model automobiles while he was walking. Very interesting. Thank you. Would like to see more in other parts of POP and other cities also. A question however, and this could be for probably most Caribbean countries. I notice that most of the men, not all of them, but a large percentage of the men wear long pants. I know this is from January but it is still hot there. Is it frowned upon for men to wear shorts for some reason? I would think because of the heat, everybody would be wearing shorts. Like I said, I've noticed this in other Caribbean countries also.

The standard dress wear for men in the Caribbean is long pants. The people are used to the heat, they were born and raised there, so your body is used to it. Actually I don’t know what heat you’re talking about, it’s just a tropical place where the sun shines every day. It’s summer all year round. It’s NOT like the humidity experienced in America during the summer months.

I’m sure Haitians have that same exact African blood that the rest of the Caribbean has only difference Haitians actually fought and won their freedom and created their own country once they won their independence. They didn’t get Hindu or Chinese indentured servants like some other islands in the Caribbean did. Also lots of them their ancestors migrated to Haiti from other Caribbean islands. once Haiti became independent, it became a safe heaven for run away slaves from all over the Americas. They represent black freedom in the Caribbean.
