PART 2:
You should title this “my terrifying trip to port au prince” instead, because Haiti is not terrifying just port au prince is bad right now. If you go to the second capital which is okap it’s a completely different experience.
Here after the presidents'assasination
With all due respect, it's a bit bizarre that it took you until you reached the country to start really caring about the security situation. It's not exactly difficult to do a quick Google search beforehand and know what you're getting into and decide whether or not to go.
It's quite amusing seeing foreigners views of Haiti when they already have a preconcieved fearful image of it. I've been there numerous times and have always felt safe. I honestly believe vloggers set up their videos with this allure of danger to make there videos seem more entertaining, but I couldnt help but question why I didnt see any of the dangerous experiences you encountered in any of the video. Also haiti is a top destination for the enlightened travelers who can see past the bad rep it recieves. Although it does have deep rooted political and economical turmoil, it is a beautiful place and a gem none the less.
Voodoo is not the main religion of Haiti. Christianity is.
Port-au-prince is not haiti.
It’s only port au prince that’s bad, just go a couple hours to the countryside and explore the real beauty of Haiti
Let me enlighten you all on something... Port-au-Prince is no different than visiting a city in the United States. Visiting other places in Haiti is like visiting small towns or the countryside in the US. I have been to Somalia, and people in the country are just as nice as anyone you would ever meet. Haiti 🇭🇹 is no different. People are people, and I'm moving there, and I'm white.
It's funny when people say "Haiti, Haiti, Haiti" but only stay in Port-au-Prince. By the way, Great video! I'm waiting for Part 2 💯
Just came back from Haiti Stayed in Cap Haitian had no problems I walked the streets and laugh with the ppl and ate the street food nothing happened. Got no bad vibes
It's so tragic how they're having all that trouble in Haiti. It's such a beautiful country. I just hope the situation gets better soon.
What I got most from this video was not just the beautiful part of the country but the humanity we all share. Thanks to you guys and to Serge!
You missed Cap Haitien! I went to Haiti for a few months to work when I was about your age. I had private security, so that helped a whole lot. But, like you I was heartbroken by all of the potential, the beauty, the amazing food and culture, and the grinding, grinding poverty. However, to be honest - I partied in Petion Ville alone at night, I escaped from gangs down a goat trail off the side of a mountain - The things you call "traumas" are, how can I put this... they are a little light. The jump scares in a horror movie. Nothing really, actually happened you guys - sheesh!
I love how kind your tourist guide is , he's being such emotional when he was trying to explain and Express something that provide to help his nation and exactly he has a point education is the key of everything you want to become to be
I couldn't agree more with this video.
Something about Haitians warms my heart. We worked with Agape flights in Venice FL to ship supplies after the earthquake.
Thank you guy's so much for showing us how Haitians are doing. My father in law went there 4 years ago with his church to help build schools, and housing. It wasn't as scary as your experience, but the trip was cut short because the locals stole all the building materials.😅
I still can't believe you're only 23! I feel old...😅
Serge is amazing. Have worked with him when we do our annual film shoots in Haiti
