I like the tall buildings. Montreal has some of the nicest skyscrapers. It has a blend of North American and European influence. The best city in North America. I need to revisit again. I'm only 6 hours away almost on a straight line north from New York City.

My wife was born and raised on the island in Montreal. We live in South Florida. I really enjoy our yearly visit there either during the 4 days of spring or the two weeks of summer.

Six years ago, I visited a bagel cafe that I enjoyed very much, but forgot the location. Thanks to this video, I was able to relocate it @ Mackay & Maisonneuve, and will be going there again as a result. Thank you.

I was walking through Quebec via you. It wasn't like a tourist promotion video. I wasn't a tourist. I lived there for a moment through you. Obscure side streets. Non-descript buildings. Boring landscape. Just like a real native taking a walk. Perfect.

If I wanted to be immersed in deepest, Francophone speaking portion of the city, where would I go? I imagine that some portions are more bilingual where others might be heavier on the French speaking side. One of my primary reasons for visiting is to experience the Francophone aspects- and I want to be as immersed as possible. What would any of you recommend? Merci en avance ~

You can visit two neighborhoods: Le Plateau Mont-Royal and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Le plateau is more touristy and Hochelaga is purely local with some historic sites. I've made videos in Plateau and Hochelaga. You can look them up on my channel.

I despise this city. The downtown is huge scar of the colonial past where francophones are treated as the lowest class and anglophone have all the privileges. Look at the street names, where english universities are located, etc.

I can understand your reasoning. The Université de Montréal is not a very attractive school. The surrounding areas are the same. It looks of low quality. Compared it to Université Laval in QC.
