i use to live in London, its bittersweet to see this, knowing that i will probably never be able to afford to go back but also wonderful that I can see the beautiful city. Especially Shoreditch, with Old Street not that far away

This is truly beautiful. I can't possibly understand why people in North America would prefer to live in suburban neighbourhoods over this.

What a variety of moods is summoned by this video. It's good to see so many people about, although their safety from covid is questionable. London is a wonderful assemblage of neighborhoods, with the narrowboats suggesting that vagabonds are among us. I'm so engrossed in the scene that I forget to look for the logos. So far I've found none in any of the videos.

  • @hiramabiff2017

Hoxton was one of the poorest area's in London and it's neighbourhoods were ignored and neglected for over 200yrs. I grew up there in the 70's when we were so piss poor we had no idea about the white privilege we had. The market was one of the busiest in N/London and was absolutely heaving with people on Frid/Sat. The transformation from what I saw growing up to what it is now can be nostalgically heart-breaking, but the poverty is gone and so has the legions of old people who would rummage through the wasted fruit & veg the stall holders would throw away along the market. Gone are the weird market guys who would pull the carts out and put them away for the stall holders who walked funny because one of them was shell shocked from the Korean war. And those who claim real poverty still exists in England are the ones who never grew up in it.

Such a shame to see almost the whole area bulldozed in the 1970,'s. it's so ugly now. All the beauty, character, charm, history, culture all eradicated
