That is one cool Lightning you had out at KOH. I was one of the Lightning drivers there. If you are interested in building extreme offroad electric, we should connect. I have new suspension and drivetrain technology for EV drive. If things go to plan, I should be out there with an electric SxS with the new suspension technology next year. It should benefit your builds.

Congrats on KOH! Love the old school graphics design! Ford needs to set you up with an EV Bronco…🎉

I love that truck but here's where im gonna be honest with you Vaughn. The very front looks bad. and this is a problem with all EVs because its designed solely for aero This truck looks spectacular from every single angle except for the front! Try and get them to have like a fan on the front or something so the truck could have an actual grill and kill the EV look issue.

Keep pushing the technology - hopefully some day we can enjoy hybrid 1 ton diesel/electric pickups.

I thought I was the only person who wanted a truck with a hydraulic hand brake until I saw the Ultimate Fun Haver. I really liked the design of the Fun Runner and wished that GM had built something like that. This is the best electric truck that I have seen. I am wondering if Kibbetech was involved in the design of the Switchgear suspension like with your previous projects? Even if Switchgear is only a limited production truck, I think vehicles like the Ford Switchgear and the McLaren P1 are important to give fans of internal combustion an electric vehicle that creates excitement in them and the desire to drive it. Until now, government agencies have been threatening to take away internal combustion and trying to force people to buy boring electric vehicles. Switchgear is a step in the right direction to give people an electric vehicle that doesn't compromise performance or fun.

I'm excited to see work being done on the lightning. But it's not what I want to see. I want to see a two-door lightning short bed lowered on 24s. And as much as you promised us that you would show us the other side of this build you have yet to show it which tells me some very bad things. Nice scoured the internet for the other side of this build like you spoke of because that's what I want. I respect this build fairly. But I'm the type of person that doesn't go off-road very often. And I want to see something that sticks to the road like the Mach e. Something that I can throw on my Ford lightning and not worry about taking a corner without the tire coming off the rim. Please tell me Mr Jr that there is something out here for little old me.

I want to see it in the cold

Vaughn, I'm sorry, but the lightning (or ANY EV for that matter) is just not something I will ever buy. You may have that instant, constant torque- but NOTHING, nothing will beat that beautifully tuned exhaust note!

The Ford lightning was such a great success that Ford are cutting production of them by half so they can meet "customer demand". The whole point of buying a truck is because it's suppose to do "Truck Things" but the F-150 Lightning Platinum saddled with a camper that nearly maxed out its 8,500-pound towing capacity couldn't even cover 100 miles.

Love how electric vehicles are piling up on dealer lots cause they are scam.

@Vaughn, I'm not a huge Ford fan or kissing ass. I own a built mustang, Chevy truck , and daily a WRX. I have to say that in my opinion RTR kills the new Ford builds. All of the lines are sleek and always look tough, gas or electric it doesn't matter. I would be so proud of my team for continuing to challenge and shape automotive culture. Congratulations on your new build. Maybe one day you can make parts to make my supercharged & nitrous fed SN95 look good. Great job RTR, sincerely, Jeff from North western Pennsylvania

Agree! Reasons for us are light duty farm truck and commuter to town. One less engine to maintain and WAY more fun than my 7.3 PSD. I swear those who hate on them have never driven them. Switchgear must have been a real kick.

Sorry but these electric vehicles are just stupid.... they make no sense... and NO they are not envirement friendly .... One normal loading station provides electricity for 180 homes if u charg ure car on fast charg... For small Town cars that u can load at home and only drive them in small city it makes a littel bit of sense... but not that thing ore any Tesla ore what ever they come up whit...

But a gas engine whit sound does that too, I know that the instand torque is stunning... but a fire breathing engine that shakes ure bodie is by far the best.... Maybe in a few years when they can build batterys that don´t die in the cold and are more environmentally friendly ... ore a Hybrid system ore hydrogen I will try them, but not now, only oure Goverments try to force us too use them.... I get the point that it´s experimentel on ure side... but u get them for free ;-)

EVs are a joke with current tech. I'd rather have better hybrid systems. At my current electricity rates it's MORE expensive to full charge an EV at home than get a tank of gas.

Where I live the dollar per mile cost for EVs is about a quarter of the cost compared to gas but the infrastructure just doesn’t exist to make it worthwhile to switch.
