This is amazing. I have a Prado 150 and you’ve literally nailed every single thing I want.... thank you sir 👍🏼
Well done. Very clean and simple mods to get you out for a weekend or do some touring! I have the same model running the v6 and couldn’t be more happier with it. Reliable and plenty of grunt !
Just came across this video. Amazing and clean build. I like that you can switch it to daily driver duties in 20 mins. Keep up the good work!!
Nice build! Has given me more than a few ideas for my 120. Thanks for posting 👍
Literally best build I’ve come across. I’m here in the states and really wanting to pull the trigger on a GX470 If I had the skill and patience I’d spec it out just like your rig. Thanks for the inspiration man!

I just bought a GX 470, it doesn't seem to hard to do most of it.
Amazing build - by far the cleanest and most practical
Well done. Clean and tasteful, functional mods and still looks good. Loving it.
Having just bought a Prado with plans to get out and about this has been a fantastic video to kick me off, well done, great ideas from front to rear and everything in between 👍👍👍

Such a great build, awesome work.
Great set-up, clearly well thought out, and nicely executed

Really great job dude. U did the perfect lone wolf explorer car.
Great setup my Prado 120 is the same you gave me some good ideas, as for the bull bar I used the Toyota one and had a Toyota cradle added, had fitted a Carbon 12000lb winch, thanks for the walk around

Awesome setup mate. Got it setup perfectly for some awesome camping.
love this! This is the dream set up!
I know your vid is a few years old now but I’m going to spec my 120 out in a similar fashion. Thanks so much for sharing
This is awesome I’m about to buy a prado and this is going to be a massive inspiration on my build
Nice Prado! Nice setup in the back! love it.
Thanks for the vid mate. love the work you have done, i have the same car untouched and have gotten ideas from your setup.
Awesome set up! Loved it 🤟
mate, one of the cleanest builds I've ever seen. Very nice work. If you haven't already add a rubber plug to your air compressor outlet on your bullbar so you don't get water in there.

Thanks mate - Yeah I ended up moving my compressor to inside the car in the boot so not so much dust gets into it and its cooler in there, I have an outlet at the back now rather than the front
Fantastic setup and awesome preparations. Greetings from Kuwait.
looks good mate, you have put a lot of work into it.
Very clean and neat rig.. well done!
Excellent set up. You have thought it out well.
@chapelle121 mate love your rig setup. Thanks for your generosity with answering everyone’s questions. I have a 2008 un-modded Prado D4D and want to go in this direction but was a bit stuck even knowing what’s possible. The way you engineered some of those solutions was inspiring. Thanks mate, subbed!

@@chappelle121 Chappelle can you plz tell me is your cargo barrier a full size one or have you fitted the half cargo barrier size
@chappelle121
4 жыл бұрын
@@rt-ks2bh it was a full size cargo barrier, it was actually to suit a mitsubishi van I got it for free and just cut it and bolted the bottom to the top of the drawers. That way it left room for the water bladder between it and the seats.

Great build! I don't even have a Prado but yours is pretty much what I dream of doing in the future. For the next videos please consider asking a friend about doing the camera work so you don't have to do everything with just one hand!
Absolutely love your prado! It's given me a few ideas for my own one too. What is the make and length of your roof rack by the way?

Top vid. Well done. Great job on the prado. Im keen for some titan draws and wings for my 120. What size draws did you use and are their wing sets universal?? Subbed your channel also.
@chappelle121
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, the titan draws you can actually buy vehicle specific, mine is a set specifically for the Prado 120 series - then it has everything you need to fit and the wings suit properly.
Hey mate, any chance you could give us an in-depth explanation of how you built that table on your rear door. i Understand its been a long time since, but dying to know cause it looks amazing. cheers!

Wow, what an awesome setup! Very, very impressive. How did you mount the fire extinguisher - is the bracket drilled into the step by the rear seat? Great solution to get it out of the way. Love the removable divider and shelf idea too. Thank you
@chappelle121
4 ай бұрын
Hi mate, yes - 1 hole is drilled and just a nut on the back of the plastic, and then got 1 longer bolt of the same thread to go into the original threaded car body mounting hole.
Nice Build
Excellent!
Hey a bit late to the party, but nice set up! I just bought this exact model and wondering how your rear door handles the extra weight? I've only got the spare and standard tools on the inside panel and I feel the door is struggling with the weight!?
Hey man, that's a sweet looking rig! Quick question, hopefully getting one of these myself in the coming weeks (120, LC3) and I really like the look of your ARB bar. However it seems to be a grey area as to whether they are legal or not. Have you had any issues with the legality of your bar?
@chappelle121
3 жыл бұрын
Depends where you are, here in Perth Western Australia there are definitely no issues, a very common early mod for most 4x4 owners here. Most 4x4's here have bull bars here. You will need to check with your local authority on local laws and regulations.
Hey mate really great setup, appreciate the video! Have you had any issues with the projecta DCDC charger mounted under the bonnet? Cheers
@chappelle121
3 жыл бұрын
no worries! No - i have not had any issues with the DCDC charger, works well.
Nice setup. Be great if you could list links to all of the gear for people to find
Mate… that’s a setup to be very proud of ! 👌🏻 Maybe a dumb question but have you done something to make your kings air compressor stop when it pressures up ? I have one but I don’t think it stops like that at a high pressure. Maybe it does 🤷♂️
@chappelle121
2 ай бұрын
If its a kings thumper max dual compressor, it should have an inbuilt pressure switch, you don't have to do anything it just cuts out when it reaches a certain pressure, which if your trigger is closed and it's not leaking anywhere it should reach that pressure very quickly and just cut out until you open the trigger or whatever again which will turn it back on.
Hi mate absolutely grouse set up How did you run the hose from the bladder to the outside of the car? Cheers
@chappelle121
5 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, there is a rubber bung just under the carpet near the rear left tail light area (near the jack compartment) . If you look under the car you will see it. Drill a hole through and poke the hose through
This is a ripper rig mate! Any chance you’d be open to sharing your plans for how you built the shelf & divider? Just top notch work 👌🏻
@chappelle121
2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, thanks ! I don't have plans unfortunately, that one was all just off the cuff figuring it as I go. Basically just got a bit of wood for the divider and cut it in a shape that would work combined with the angle off the cargo barrier, couple hinges and carpet and its done! the shelf was the same deal, just got some wood and carpet and cut to fit in the space
Awesome setup mate, well impressed. Quick question. How close are you to GVM? I'm in the early stages of planning a 150 so would be great to know how close you are getting. Cheers

Mine are just through the plastic only which is sufficient.
Absolutely beautiful mate - that has to be one of the nicest Prado’s, in fact 4x4’s, around ! Well done 👍 so nice. It’s not over the top with every piece of unnecessary stuff bolted on for the brag factor - it’s just simple, super clean and super practical ! Awesome mate 😉👍👍 and I don’t mean this in any derogatory way but I get the impression you may be a bit of a perfectionist 👌 if I’m not mistaken and it shows so keep it up mate, it’s bloody great work ! Let me guess - aircraft mechanic or engineer of some sort ?

chappelle121 well either way mate - well done, beautiful clean tidy tourer you’ve got there. 👍 just goes to show with a bit of thinking, some planning and not stupid big over the top brand name spending, you can have a really nice vehicle to get you out and about into the camp lifestyle #stresslesscampmore #4wheelinginnsw
Hey bro, first of all have to say great job bro.... tidy, clean, functional, just great mods.... secondly how you 2nd battery setup goes? I've been told AGM does not like the heat from the bonnet nevertheless I was thinking how it does performed if someone install it there.... how is your experience with that battery... thanks mate for sharing.... Nice job!....
@chappelle121
5 жыл бұрын
Yeah you see that a fair bit, AGM's ideally should not be in the engine bay, however for me I didn't have another good place to put it, but it is working just fine... I run my lights, fridge, charging phones etc... while camping and in the morning the voltage is still like 12.6V so plenty of juice by morning. the DC DC charger I use gives it a nice full charge and its temperature compensated - it has a temperature probe to help it charge efficiently so if its hot it wont pump so much current into it I guess. (its a Projecta Inteli-carge) On the Prado the battery is right behind the headlight too so I don't think it gets that hot, there's probably some decent airflow there.
Great setup! I love your little innovations everywhere! Do you prefer having the 4.0v6 over the D4D?
@chappelle121
5 жыл бұрын
I had the diesel in my previous hilux and while i miss the better economy of it. The extra power of the V6 is very nice to have. Tbh. I am indifferent and could go either hapily but the v6 is typically cheaper to buy used and thats what I ended up with this time.
