Wal is like street rules so get used to it. If you ain't got hustle in your game you don't belong in the Wal. It was a fair match because both started early and looked for tricks in the setup. Ermes being the first to start the games in round one and he came from a so called strict league on rules but was the first to get that hustle setup in and win 1st round. Matt recognized it and played the game back and schooled Ermes. Fair Victor for Matt. You got to be aggressive in the Wal compared to other leagues who the ref becomes your saving grace over every little wussy detail. Ermes ain't so good without the ref on his side calling weak ass fouls. Welcome to kings of getting down dirty and that's the Wal. For instance Levan would be destroyed under there rules since he's so use to being saved by refs on petty fouls when matches should be allowed to continue. Wal let's the boys play and get down dirty. Wal is definitely more entertaining over the other leagues.

I love armwrestling, but this match is a good example of how rules has to change. When ref says close your hands, theres quick moment between that and actual go where many pullers start early. Not much but that microsecond counts a lot to momentum. Rule has to be clear, no movement before GO. When refs slip just a little, next you have is total chaos of false starts going through. Its really frustrating to all not to see real strength comparison happening in these matches. This is fine sport but rules has to get better and more precise or many will lose interest and patience.

The pullers can feel each other, one isnt going to let the other "false start" they are going to start pulling as soon as they feel pressure.

From the way I see it Ermes was actually the one who did the false start. Ermes clearly starts to pull back before Matt, however with no effect. Matt then responds by also pulling back and manages to pull Ermes toward him. All this happened just before the go.

Apparently Ermes anticipated the go too early, bc u can see him backpressure and wrist rise first, Matt then countered doing the same thing, whilst Ermes stopped because he thought Bart would call the false start, but in WAL they sorta let those go and Ermes wasn't used to the system, so Matt continued forward, with Ermes confused. Either way, you see them do the same in the 4th round, with both committing, and Ermes gets blasted.

Can't believe 3 years later this guy ermes is stopping Levan and being in the top 3 strongest arm wrestlers in the world.

it's hard not to get hyped when watching Matt Mask, the guy explodes every time he wins a round.

WAL seriously needs a whole new set of referees. First 2 rounds are not even legit. Last round Matt took half of Ermes hand before the go. This is one of those match that was won by the referee or set up. We never got to see the real war between these two. If they were to do it again the next day, i bet there will be a whole different outcome.
