Wakeboarding on Mars - Lake Powell Trip

Orlando ➜ Las Vegas ➜ Private Plane ➜ LAKE POWELL
Riding wakeboards has taken me all over the globe, and of all the places I’ve ridden, Lake Powell is one of my favorites in the entire world. If you follow wakeboarding, you know this place. There is no mistaking the cliff walls, desert color scheme, and green water. This lake has been the scene for so many famous photos and videos in our sport, and I’m stoked to be back here again.
Houseboats, two Nautique G25s, plenty of wakeboarding, hiking the cliffs, a night spent out under the stars, and new friends all make for one amazing trip. If you’ve never been to Lake Powell, you’ve got to check it out in person someday. It’s the perfect place to enjoy YOUR ride!✌️
Questions? Comments? Drop them below-and let me know if you think Lake Powell is the ultimate destination in wakeboarding.

Have you ever been to Lake Powell for an entire week and then find out that SHAUN FREAKING MURRAY is in the house boat next to you? But here's the kicker, you don't find out he has been LITERALLY the next house boat over until the night before you have to leave. I have never been so tempted to go over to another house boat, in the dark, and meet someone. But A: that's creepy, and B: it's not polite to bug people on vacation. Either way, what an opportunity missed, sad day. Shaun, thanks for saving our stuff on the beach when the winds kicked up Saturday and we weren't around to save it. Real class act.

That was your stuff blowing away in the wind?! It was the owners of our houseboat that first noticed things on the run. Maybe next time we can cross paths...and actually get to say hi!

I'm injured and want some good butter tricks to try where I don't have to leave the water too much. I like your tumble turn. I'm going out to learn that this weekend. I'm down in Oz and wakeboard on the Murray river in tocumwal. Camp on the river next to the boat.

Peter! The Murray river! Pretty awesome that you're down there bc that was the first place I went to when I went to Australia back in 96. Met a guy named Chief who was riding a board called a Cordial. It was skateboard style layup, no channels, some rocker. He rode it w baseless snowboard bindings and skate shoes. He had such a unique style and made me look at wakeboarding differently. The Cordial is where the Hyperlite Roam came from and really has a lot to do w where park boards came from so huge shoutout to Chief for where riding is today. Check out this video where I do some riding and don't really leave the surface much... kzread.info/dash/bejne/eZ9kpcaoetvemZs.html

That is Antelope Point marina... where our reservation was supposed to be. hopefully next year.... We went to lake Powell this summer, hauled my G25 out there, 24hours of driving from KY. Flat tire on the trailer out there, but pulled over in front of the biggest tire store I have ever seen, just outside Little Rock. Got to Lake Powell, was on the water a few hours and hit rock. Just a few feet out of the channel, the depth went from 100+ ft to 18 inches, instantly. We were the 10th person that week to hit the same rock. Worst day ever in my Nautique. Glad your trip was safe and un-eventful. Anyway, my point for posting all this... Lake Powell is beautiful, but dangerous, study the lake, stay in the channel, really stay in the channel, and be careful.
