Wakaayu (Waka-ayu, 若鮎) is a seasonal Japanese confection called Wagashi (和菓子) that is available at many sweet shops during summer. Wakaayu is made from sweet mochi wrapped with a thin pancake, like Dorayaki, formed in the shape of a sweetfish, called Ayu.
In this video, we show you how to make Wakaayu easily at home in Kyoto, Japan.

I always like your videos and it's nice to see you traveling and sharing regional dishes. In this video, I liked the background music, but maybe it's a bit too loud? A little difficult to hear your voice. Just a thought. Thank you for posting!

I would prefer traditional Japanese music for background music, but I don't mean to criticize. As always thank you for the great content. I learned to cook Japanese food from your channel and am very grateful. 🙏🏼

Don't want to be rude, but the "background music" is very loud and distrating.

@@hino000 日本語と英語の「失礼」のことがなかなか違います。英語の「失礼」とは、"The background music is so loud we barely can hear you. Do we even need to tell you that?". In English, what he said at the above is not rude at all

I'm sorry, but it seems like you barely understand English nuances. I've told you, in English what he said is not rude at all. We Japanese language learners try so hard to understand Japanese language nuances, but it seems like you don't even try to understand English's nuances. Please don't insist on what you clearly don't understand. You want to talk about respect? Then please learn English language's nuances. It's better for you than accusing us to be rude when we're not.
