Southern mainly from like Louisiana, the Carolinas for some reason the southern accent there is so cute. But as you get more down to Texas it’s rough and harder to understand

Genevieve Hi! So if you don't want the full musical to be spoiled (there are bootlegs on KZread so I don't know if you ever planned to watch it) stop reading when you see these **** Keep in mind I'm skipping the subplot with the other two waitresses So basically Jenna is working in the diner with her two friends and fellow waitresses and she finds out she's pregnant by her crappy husband. He's an abusive douche, physically and emotionally, so she hadn't slept with him in ages (he got her drunk) and also feels stuck in the marriage and is afraid to leave. She's really great at making pies though (she learned from her passed away mother, who was abused by her husband as well) so after gaining the confidence and strength from the support of her friends and the people around her plus her own sheer will, she plans to win a pie making competition which would give her the money to leave her husband. **** But she has to earn money to travel to the competition first so she's saving up which is hard because her husband collects her tips after every shift and gets worse and keeps a closer eye on her when he loses his job. During this, she's still trying to come to terms with the baby (she's not happy about it). She is denial in the beginning and is trying to pretend the baby isn't a big deal but overtime, she warms up and begins writing to the baby. Her friends know but she is keeping it a secret from her husband, mainly. However, when her husband is in a mood and about to hit her she announces she's pregnant so there goes the secret. Along the way she starts having an affair with this really kind doctor who gave her the confidence to do the pie contest when he fawned over pie she gave him. But he's married too so that sucks. So she's getting close to the pie competition when her husband finds out she's been hiding money around the house and freaks out and to save face, she lies and tells him she was putting it aside to buy the baby stuff which he accepts but still takes all the money she saved for the competition. This is when she sings She Used To Be Mine because in her sorrow, she's singing to her baby about how she doesn't recognize who she is anymore and that her life didn't turn out the way she expected. It's a really moving moment. Honestly, I recommend looking up a clip of the original Jenna performing this song because the studio recording doesn't quite capture the pain and emotion. Then she goes into labor and has the baby, and after seeing her daughter she finally had the strength to tell her husband to kick rocks and that she wants a divorce. She also ends the affair with the doctor. She doesn't get to do the pie competition but then this old man she always serves kindly at the diner, who was cranky and demanding and he didn't really have anyone in his life anymore, left all his money and assets to her in a final act of kindness before his death, which included the diner. So she ended up running the diner, getting to make her pies and raise her daughter in a safe environment

For the two other waitresses, the older one is having an affair with the cook at the diner which she's not proud of but isn't ashamed of either because it makes her happy and she still loves and cares for her husband, who we think is bedridden and basically out for the count. She and Jenna bond over it because she helps Jenna stop beating herself up over the affair with the doctor (I Didn't Plan It). The younger waitress with the glasses is quirky and having a hard time finding someone to be with because she's afraid of both falling head over heels and being rejected (When He Sees Me). She starts up her dating profile and gets a date with this guy who turns out to be really weird and quirky too (Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me) At first she wasn't feeling it but she realizes how compatible they are and they fall in love and get married (I Love You Like A Table) All the other songs I believe are directly related to Jenna's plot
