By the end of the film, Mirabel actually fulfilled the things she said she wanted to do in this song, whether directly or indirectly. "I would move the mountains" Her outburst with Abuela caused the mountains surrounding the town to crack and shift. "Make new trees and flowers grow" she did this by making Isabela realize that she was capable of creating so much more with her powers. "I would heal what's broken" she found a way to heal what was broken with her family. "Show this family something new" was best said in her All of You line "I think it's time you learn you're more than just your gift".

I'm the exact same way. I always felt alone and on the outside. Now that I've gotten answers I can work with it, although somedays I still feel like im waiting on a miracle. I know how it feels and I'm sorry you had to go through it too. Hopefully youre not still waiting too :))

I can relate to that feeling. As person with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, I felt left out sometimes too. I'm constantly "waiting on a miracle", hoping to be able to walk again. 💜

It literally only occured to me now that Mirabelle end up doing all the things she wishes she could do in this song. Her actions end up moving the mountains, causing new flowers to grow, healing her family, and showing her family a new way forward. That's so cool!

It is hard being in a family that has so many successful people, it took a long time for me to accept that just because I'm not a professor or scientist doesn't mean I am less of a person and still have things to offer. This song made me cry when I first saw it, and it made me cry now.

I love how powerful this sounds and you feel so much sympathy a true masterpiece!

@@tex6579 Just read an article about it. She knew she was in labour, but it was very early an the contractions were far apart. So she sang in between the contractions. When she wasn't singing, she focused on her body to get an idea if she should keep going or not. That's dedication.

In the movie mirabel is the part of the madrigal family so she’s addressing them it’s a more personal i want song. But the lyric change makes it less about her talking about her family and more about anyone who feels left out

Waiting on a Miracle, We don’t talk about Bruno, and Surface Pressure are not only my favorite Encanto songs, but some of my favorite Disney songs

I know most people fav song is « WE DONT TALK ABOUT BRUNO » or « SURFACE PRESSURE » but personally I always liked this song the most . It shows that despite her loving her family too much , she also makes the mistake of overshadowing her own emotions and needs . But for one song she managed to take a few seconds and express how left out she feels and how much she wants to be included. I love her so much

'Come on, I'm ready. I've been steadfast and steady' I relate to this song heavily, you can see Mirabel is trying her hardest to be helpful and keeps being told like Bruno she is no help and a curse. She had no say in how things went and has wanted to change it all for years then keeps pretending she's okay when she's not. I feel ordinary, everyone else has something big they can contribute and all I can do is use Google or offer up my home for space. I look up to so many people in the world and am constantly running to be like them or make them proud. I'm not hyper smart, am socially a silly goose... It's hard to work on all that alone

Just the way Mirabel sounds, the emotions, just everything about it, and it really rare for me to be like that. This song and the movie hurts because it explains what is going on in my family perfectly, they push aside conflict to keep the peace when it does nothing and when me (The only one with autism in my family) says anything im put down, it's ignored pushed aside and mostly the cause of the conflict is my dad and how he treats me and others. Im waiting to be noticed as something more in my family then just the one who cosplays or is a little different. But i feel im to late as im 16 and i feel like nothing had changed since i was 9. Reason why this is one of my favorite songs: I'm waiting for things in life to change I have been very stressed lately especially at school before summer break started i was always overworking myself to meet the expectations my parents want for me I naturally lack sleep due to overworking and trying to be the perfect "daughter" my parents want so I wait on a miracle to change everything of course it lead to burnout and my grades got worse then they were my step mom thinks my grades are awful because I'm "lazy and I goof off" during class so i wait for some type of miracle to happen everyday.... I just hope im not to late for one

I always feel worthless or like I'm a disappointment to my family because my younger brother is the "star child" who can never do anything wrong and they are always proud of him and take him out for rewards after he does something good or does good in school but when I do something I'm proud of or I put blood sweat and tears into I always get "nice" "yeah that's great" "good for you" "yeah yeah I see it" "ok..good job..what do you want a cookie?" And then every time my family is spending time with each other and I try to talk they just ignore me and keep talking,then they always ask me why I'm always so distant or always sitting in my room crying. My miracle is my family being proud of me and my mental health getting better.
