Here's why I invested the GE into the A-4E. The A-4B before "New Power" was my go to grinding plane in the US tree towards other top tier Air Vehicles. With what it went up against, I had no problem destroying a base, and then getting 2-3 kills per match easily. After "New Power" it's always an up tier against the GR1 Harrier. Literally what sold me on the A-4E was the flares. Because you out turn 90% of planes in this BR so the only real threat in a 1 on 1 dogfight is missiles from my experience.

The A4E early is not noob friendly , I got it after the only experience I had playing jets was the me262 , the stock grind makes it borderline useless and you lose all your speed very quickly compared to other fighters , The AIM9Bs will rarely if almost never hit of the person you're shooting at is paying attention and knows you are there ,The A4E early has some potential in skilled hands , but Unfortunately for me i suffer from what is known as a major skill issue using this plane. At 8.7 you will often face Mig 19s , Mig 21s and other supersonic jets in an up tier which will just absolutely kick your shit in. The USA teams at this Br are gonna be filled with other A4Es which will be either stock or piloted by inexperienced players meaning that it is very common to see more than half your team dead within the first 5 minutes in a match. I recommend getting to jets through the normal tech tree past 8.7 if you plan on using this thing in air RB as the skills acquired through doing so will make flying this thing less painful and will mean you are a greater use to your team. If you still plan on getting the A4E after reading this here's some tips to help you get by ; 1) Always keep your speed High when turning use the keyboard to turn in small parts and avoid using full turn above 800kph as your wings will commit adios. 2) If you want to bomb bases you can carry the 250lbs in the middle of the wings pylon and 1 500lbs bombs on the outer most tips of your wings , this is lightweight and enough to fully destroy 1 base while keeping you fast , you could carry 1 gun pod in the center as well for self defense but if you dont plan on fighting anyone its just extra weight and drag. 3) For air to air combat I run min fuel , x2 Aim9b and x1Gunpod , The AIM9b is pretty useless unless you catch someone within 2km , below supersonic and not paying attention from behind , the gun pod is far better than the two 20mm guns you get which have bad damage and horrible stock accuracy. 4) You will die A lot starting out adapt to the situation and some fights are just unwinnable 5) You see a Mig 21 that wants you dead , you die (you can roll around and force a reversal but it can just loop around and shoot you down) 6) You see a Mig 19 that want you dead , you die (same applies here) 7) you see a Mig 17 that wants you dead , you die 8) When base bombing stay low , stay fast , look around and dont be afraid to drop a flare or two if you notice you've been flying straight for too long. 9) When people see you , they see a free kill , which is what it is , your plane cant out turn a lot of planes you face and only start dogfighting someone when you're alone or our team is with you, this is because you bleed a lot of speed and once you're slow YOU'RE DEAD 10) Keep practicing , try new things learn your plane ANYTHING WITH MIG IN THE NAME WILL GIVE YOU A TOUGH TIME playing this plane is rough , you can get 3 - 4 kills but with no teammates you will not be clutching any 1 v 7 you get max up tiers very often which is not fun Do your best and just grind out tech tree planes man , remember to take breaks to keep your sanity in check , especially when stock , Good Luck. - Hopefully you pin this for others to see

Oh, thats cool. your plane has a thrust advantage? wouldnt it be funny if we just, sold multiple premiums with the best Thrust to Weight in the game and trashed every vehicle in that BR rating? maybe give them the best missiles to go with their top performance, because we wouldnt want our new jet to sell poorly

War thunder's bs flight model of the FR.47 makes it one of the worst Rank IV props in the game. Everything it does is average at best, and its turn performance is trash. All because the Griffon engine in-game is below spec. Sorry to disappoint you, but the Seafire FR.47 is bad in War Thunder.

@@DEFYN Well I'm mainly air RB and some Sim every now and then and I want to grind a littl emore in my german tree. I know the 262s aren't exceptional but engines go zoom. I think I might get the 262 even tho you said not to :P

I mean for a jet that is basically free I think I will have some fun in Air Rb with it. Even if I don't enjoy the A-4E the only thing it will affect me with is buying the plane and crew.

ngl tho, this plane could really help me grinding the Rank V american tt, and it also has AAMs is something I havent tried before.

It's not sooo bad, it's just not worth it considering the BR increase and the fact it's effectively the same as the one we already have in the game. For ground rb it's great, for air rb it's kinda just fighting harriers and 10.0s because of the BR

About harrier spam and br compression I want to say it is just sad, that only way for gaijin to make money is ruining every battle rating with OP vehicles and making game frustrating. Harriers, f89s, g55s, xp55, kw1b, etc. With every update it looks like this game will be fair more balanced if it would be p2p. A monthly fee to have a normal game or premium vehicles + extremaly high repair costs (which makes u to buy premium account). I think first option would be so much better but most of us know they care more about money then players...

Solution: 11.3 or 11.7 for top tier, move barriers to 10.7, F-100 at 10.0, F-104 at 10.7, +- 0.7 up/down tier.

I was quite excited for the A4E because I liked the A4B a lot, but after some test flying I was very disappointed; I actually timed the acceleration in test flight (reference, min fuel, no fuel consumption, clean wings) and its completely identical times (+/- some human error while stopping the time) to 600, 800 and 1000km/h at 100m altitude, means the higher BR is basically only because of the flares and the increased ground ordenance (which I as air rb player never use at all anways). Id say in the current state of the game, if you really want to fly a Skyhawk, this would be the go-to over the A4B though, I been flying my A4B a little to get it to 500 air kills and I can definitely not agree with you saying that you "barely" face harriers, I basically had 1-2 in my match every game, and while thats not completely impossible to deal with, I'd definitely much rather would've had flares in those matches. But in the end both are just barely "flyable" with the Harriers being at 9.7.

@@DEFYN Well yeah true, I think in full uptiers (so e.g. 8.7-9.7) quantitative MM is in place so there can only be liek 3 or 4 9.7s on each team, which kinda limits how many you can face to like 2-3 (because theres always some other 9.7); but without flares 1 Harrier that really wants you dead can just kill you without any problems.

1:38 one minor thing: it’s not ASRAAM, it’s just SRAAM. In fact, ASRAAM barely has anything to do with SRAAM, which has the shortest range among all AAMs, unlike ASRAAM which was designed to replace AIM-9 and close the range gap between your IR missiles of choice and AMRAAM, so it actually has range to rival those of IR modifications of the SAHR missiles like R-27ET. ASRAAM is an all-aspect missile similar to IRIS-T, AIM-9X, R-73. Some late harriers have an option to carry that, but adding those to the current matches would be moronically stupid for Gaijin.

i think a plane like this would work great in air rb if you fly in an element with a dedicated squad member but then again that goes for pm every plane at top tier it’s just a matter of understanding the essentials of element dogfighting

Got it just for 9.3 ground rb.

This plane is absolutely worth it for it's increased payload, and especially because it has flares. Having the ability to counter wallet warriors in their GR.1's with SRAAMS, is empowering. PS. This is the "Early" version of the plane with 37kN of thrust, and we might see the "Late" version with 41kN of thrust with the Mig 21 fuel hump back. I want to have both spaded by the time the late one arrives :).

The hump of the late A-4E contains ECM equiptment, not fuel. it has: AN-ALQ-100 ECM jammer that jamms radars of enemy SAMs AN-APR-25 Radar warning receiver AN-ALE-29 CHAFF control (automatically deploys Chaff when radar pinged)

I would disagree. I think the A-4E shines more now than ever. It rendees the A-4B kinda useless other than a reserve plane. Their BR is nearly the same. Infact, it is more advantegous for the A-4E to have higher BR as the likehood of getting better planes on your team that can fight against Harriers are much higher. Leaving you able to ground strike far more. And with the flares, you can at least be able to do 1 run of ground striking and not dying immidiatly from asraams. So in my opiniom. A-4E is worth it. Especially if you havent started grinding the american air tree. Getting the A-4E once you hit jet battles will definatly speed up your grind. Early american jets are just horrible except for a few.

The early american planes F-80A, F-84G, F-80C and F9F-5 are great right now You don't get better planes on your team, you just see more harriers with sraams and 10.0s It's not a premium so untill you reach jets it won't help you grind either It's not a bad plane, but this is aimed at people that aren't sure to get it. If you don't want this thing, it's not worth it

@@DEFYN just finished grinding through the f9f, that was not a fun experience. Cant realy say I was a particular fan of the Panthers, but i was in the middle of the GR1 plague when it was 9.3 instead of 9.7 While the sabre line is much better, Yes the A-4E is definatly not worth getting if you dont have it specifically in mind for air RB. But then again same goes for anything rly, if you dont really want it, dont waste time on it. Been playing since 2013. Whats more valuable than RP and silver Lions is Time. But overall i think it is a rather usefull one to have. As it does farm ground targets better than the B. You do also get some AA missiles additionally with more ground pounding stuff. And its flexible in the terms that it will also be usefull for ground RB as well. (Overall much more usefull than a sabre or dedicated air superiority jet) The a-4b has always been great, the flares was really the only thing dearly missing. Also better color scheme. But playing between the a-4B and a-4E i hardly notice the difference in matchmaking. Just the fact I can survive harriers much better due to flares just makes the E superior. But we yet to see though once the harrier plague settles down and normalises itself.

im grinding through the american tree. Im 100% through the German tree so i decided that i want to grind heavy bombers because i really enjoyed the Me264. The B17s are a bit disappointg but ill get to the B29 soon

This plane was specifically made for ground rb players. AGMs are Tier I module lol. I think its there to tone down the bitching and moaning about g.91

Problem with the g91 is 99k to research so every effing player has one. That and German 8.7-9.7 ground has a host of tanks with thermals and the pen to be completely comfortable at 10.7, so getting in it is easy

When I test flew it I got quite disappointed. A Sabre accelerates WAY better. Yes this plane has roll but it's just poo performance paying 1.1m sl for missiles and flares.

I just got an F-86A-5 Sabre a week ago and I got chased by SRAAMs in my third game. And of course, I can’t dodge it even thou I see it coming. :(

you need to start turning before he gets into range, you wont outturn SRAAM but if you manage to turn towards him before he gets into range he either wont be able to launch at all or be forced to take risky high angle shot that often misses

@@DEFYN idk what I'm talking about haven't played jets in 3 months but what I meant was give it a br which doesn't let it face harriers but take away it's air spawn so I should have said 8.0 That I think would be fine... Or balance harriers

dude, you have a 0.3 KD in the F-35. I dont think your .50s are getting anyone. nonetheless a harrier
