End of saga, which means they want to start a brand new story/ a new chapter, I'm hoping for a boy band as the new idols and I think they should start this new story with us being a new species starting off this new chapter in a new town, different location, perhaps a island, snowy area or the woods. We can't forget that the Salmons are the new enemy in the lore so we aren't actually done with Splatoons lore yet

Splatoon 3 is not the end, it is a new beginning.

I mean they said the current characters we have in the current plot is done. That’s the only one thing related to Splatoon that’s done, so Splatoon 4 will have a new cast

In my opinion, if the switch 2 releases somewhat in the near future, the next game will probably be Splatoon 4. But if the switch 2 is still awhile away, then it will probably be a spinoff game sort of bridging the gap between this old saga and the new one.

We are at the VERY LEAST getting a spin-off title or two, our squids and octos ain’t out yet. They will arrive again, somehow

I feel like they rapped up the story well I just feel like Deep Cut needed more. They only got three boss fights and sang Calamari Inkantation. THEIR BANDITS! They needed more time in the spotlight, like Pearl and Marina. I dream that we would get a Deep Cut DLC or something. Hopefully they could pull a Pokémon and give an epilogue.

It would be crazy if we got a spaltoon game where we could time travel. That would be sick

The squid sisters's song at the end of the story campaign was titled something around good bye. It made me think that since they are saying goodbye splatoon 3 was the final game. Now I understand that might not be the case.

Instead of sharks and Minos, the tag game. Splatoon could make sharks and squidos. :)

I just want to point out that 2025 will be Splatoon's 10th anniversary

I dunno about Splatoon being done for good personally, but I do think the next installment is probably going to have to really shake things up if Nintendo wants the series to keep up with the fans

I said this in the last Splatoon video and I’ll say it again. Anyone who thinks Splatoon 3 is the last Splatoon game doesn’t understand the most basic elements of business. Saying there won’t be another Splatoon game is just as ridiculous as saying there won’t be be another Smash game

Splatoon 3 is the end not the end of the series, but the end of what you can call phase 1 Splatoon 4 will be a thing and you can say it will start phase 2 of the series I don't get why people say "Splatoon is over, it's never coming back after 3" it's massively popular, it's not ending with 3 I saw people say the exact same thing about Kingdom Hearts Kingdom Hearts 3 is the final game ever, no more after that yet here we are, with Melody of Memory and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 4 and the same goes for Smash Bros, there will be another game, the roster may be drastically cut and remade but there will be another, hopefully with my boy Crash Bandicoot

I really love the vibe of these games, like how they look and their music but i can never seem to get into them that much and idk why. I'd love to love splatoon so i hope whatever they do next is for me!

Huh people STILL THINK splatoon is dead!?!?!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Splatoon 2 is the best game in the series for numerous reasons and the fact the 3 is so lackluster makes it all the more apparent that if the devs don't tighten up in the next game that we're never getting a Splatoon 5 especially with the finality and lack of a mystery. 2 had the chaos vs order curiosity, which going into 3 made sense, 3 has basically none of this. We're see signs that the devs have great ideas the don't go anywhere because they're stale (table turf, etc). I didn't get side order because of the lack of replayability in 3. I had 570+ hours in 2 which I owned for a shorter time than 3 (like barely 170+ hours). They just need to make it more fun splatfests are lackluster (although my team, shiver's team always wins), no shifty stations, challenges should be permanent, the new subs and specials have potential but weren't as handy as in past games, etc.

I 100% agree. The only thing Splatoon 3 really did better was the story, and that’s just base game, DLC is about on-par to Octo expansion (so far, haven’t finished it yet). And even that still has the same big problem Splatoon stories always have: too short, you can 100% in about 2.5-3 hours, and no way to replay it without getting another user.

​@Mobtrapper-hq8is Don't forget Side Order. Also, I hope the developers of Splatoon decides to take notes from the development process of Super Mario Brothers Wonder for Splatoon 4 in the future.

I do think there will be more Splatoon games, but it won't be in the form of "Splatoon 4." It will be remakes on the next console generation, and ALL Splatoon 3 copies on all generations will receive the same updates, and hopefully be able to play together. I think Nintendo is going to keep their current online system since they worked so hard on it, so that means Switch and Switch 2 players will be able to play together online.

i get this is final story for the octo vs squid but so many questions yet to be answered or left empty from the games, where's the proof? where's the other areas? where's the rabbits and mammalians? why they can't add more bosses? why they can't let us pick our own sub weapons and specials on story mode besides side order? why the boys don't get much love as girls?

I rememeber seeing videos about (before splatoon 3 released) how Splatoon 3 would be the final game and I was okay with it, as long as it got some good DLC and the splatfests/updates would last a while longer than others. But you bringing this up, it does make sense to keep up the splatoon series. I really hope to see more about Alterna and the evolution, maybe the war with Captain Kuttlefish was in

I love splatoon 3, I honestly think splatoon 4 is just going to be the same with some slight changes maybe a new mode on splatoon 5 years later.

i feel like a fun idea for splatoon 4 would be to add gear from other franchisees, for example, if you scaned a link amibo, you would get a champions tunic or something.

While Splatoon as we know it is almost complete, there’s soooooo much to explore and ponder on the world of the iconic planet of the cephalopods. Who knows, a spinoff title or even a party mode title could be a wise expansion!

Discontinuing Splatoon is one of the worst business decisions they could make, it sells like crazy in Japan. If they were to discontinue it then they would be cutting off a huge chunk of their revenue. That's the only thing you have to think about to realise that it is highly unlikely that S3 is the final game of Splatoon.

I feel like splatoon 3 is limited to what they could do with the switch console, and that they limit updates in splatoon 3 to make splatoon 4 BIG. Like hairstyles, gear, and other things

I do want to see new IP from Nintendo as for Splatoon...I would wait until the final Splatfest which may decide where Nintendo will take Splatoon for the next game as a result of the final Splatfest.

Exactly my thoughts, this series is amazing a great trilogy and no it doesn't feel like it is finished it just closes off this series and gives a soft reboot of the whole thing

The developers even said they wanted to make splatoon one of nintendos flagships. I think what they said in the treehouse was then saying the story of the *squidbeak splatoon* was over. Not the entire series. So yea splatoon is not going anywhere

Splatoon is Nintendo’s big First Party online multiplayer game. It would be surprising for them to have a console without one now.

I would really love a game that focuses more on the single player content, I enjoy that so much more than the main game.

I mean, saying splatoon is done forever is still a more realistic statement than "smash ultimate is the last smash bros"

Before splatoon 3 came out, I was saying that I thought they should integrate some mechanics from animal crossing. As the player, you get an apartment in the city and with your money you earn from Grizzo, you could buy things for your apartment (like animal crossing). The store changes every day. Your friends apartments are just a few doors down and you can visit any time and check them out. Maybe another floor of the apartment building has people you recently played with etc. then splatoon 3 came out and they added the lockers. I thought that was a really close idea. I still think the appointment idea would be awesome.

I agree with you, Nint10land, the 3rd Splatoon game is not the last Splatoon game. Gamers need to chill out. I hope Nintendo doesn't milk the Splatoon franchise to death like how the other triple AAA companies are doing it. Since Splatoon 3 is the last Splatoon game of inklings vs octarians saga, I think Splatoon 4 will have a new, fresh, and unique start with tropical/exotic environments, new species that's related to allies/heroes or foes/villains, more clothing options, playable idols (such as Squid Sisters, Off The Hook, and Deep Cut), new and original story mode that doesn't involve with octarians stealing the zapfish, new idols (and it better a male idol this time, or better, male and female idol falling in love each other), new and original stages, new side modes, customizable weapons, new splatfest-like events, glowy fingertips/toes, unique hairstyles for both inklings and Octolings (alongside with the new species), unique clothing based off from Splatoon manga/dolls, better online servers, darker tone, new and original enemies (including the main antagonist of Splatoon 4) that's alot more threatening and terrifying than octarians, and last but not least, bring back the collaborations for Splatoon 4 (such as amiibo, anime/manga, and indie/AA game franchise collaborations)!

There will be Splatoon 4👍🫶❤️

What splatoon needs is a time jump. I think the final splatfest should be past vs future vs present... if past wins we travel to when callie and marie are kids or we travel back to the great turf war if present wins we keep the story going but likely in a new setting if future wins we travel 50 years into the future where octolings are no longer discriminated against, and the inklings invent crazy technology that is used for gimmicks (like flying)
