But Gavin Was the reason he lost. His tires were destroyed from gavin bashing him for 10 seconds. He would have finished in first or second even with the hare tires.

@@unit378 Gavin's bashing had practically no effect on Michael's vehicle health or tire grip (at most something like 5% tire grip was lost at that time). Michael should have pitted his tires at least when they turned red. It was 100% Michael's own fault for losing.

He probably could have made one last lap before pitting, even though he'd be cutting it real close, but Gavin took him out after it was too late to make that decision to pit. To be fair though, I think he thought he could go the whole race without pitting, so it probably doesn't matter

I would like to put this preface: I loved this video and have no ill feelings towards the boys or this video. This is actually one of my favorite racing GTA videos. Okay so I know I may get some flak for this, but for those who dont know the hardness of the tyres correlates to the amount of grip you have in the car and peak performance. Hard has the lowest grip and ultra-soft has the highest. Softer tyres have a better performance rating but can be used up quickly and the reverse is for the Harder tyres. Hope people liked this. I understand this is just a game and no one really cares about accuracy.

So for those uncertain: - Losing body pieces lessens downforce and the car is harder to drive. - The Boost re-gains when you aren't on throttle / are on brakes, this is like the real life KERS system for F1. - A softer tire has more grip but less durability / a Harder tire has less grip but more durability.

#1 Soft tires have the most grip but wear faster, hard tires last the longest but have the least amount of initial grip #2 the aero has a huge effect on the car, missing front spoiler will reduce turning and create understeer, losing the rear will create oversteer. #3 you can shut off boost by clicking in the stick again,

Programming notes: Losing the front wing results in less downforce on the front wheel = understeer Losing the rear wing results in less downforce on the rear wheels = oversteer & slower acceleration FYI

For anyone that cares or doesn’t know, soft and hard tire compounds determine grip and wear rates. Softer the tire=more grip but wear out much faster. Opposite is true for harder tires

They should try the actual F1 game with damage on, theres a track in Austin and all, it'll be utter carnage!

To some extent, I'd love to watch them do that, but then again... It would be so painful to watch. If they did it though, they should do two races - first, one where all assists are off, and they have to set up their own racing strategy, regarding pitstops and tires. Second, with all the assists they want, the games recommended strategy, etc. I don't know about race-length though. Would they be able to stay focused for just 15-20 laps?

As a Motorsport fan I’d honestly love to see AH do more “serious” racing like this, while they do obviously still go for sprunks it’s nice to see them actually being competitive with their racing it would be interesting to see them do a racing tournament like they did with their baseball and hockey teams. And since they are all pretty much at the same skill level to me it would also be interesting to watch their progress like figuring out racing lines, correct braking zones, overtaking cleanly, etc.

Gavin definitely accelerated it, but given another minute, Michael would’ve screwed himself out of the race anyway.

Okay I was not anticipating the boys getting as far into the tires and down force and racing. This was great. A proper grand prix series on this would be great.

I just love how Gavin goes off and does his own then a lot. It's always funny.

Lewis Hamilton is a blank space where a personality should be.

Richard Hammond also recently crashed his motorcycle into his garage with his daughter watching.

Loved this race, looking forward to seeing if any future cunning stunts or transform races use these open wheel cars. Would like to see more of these type of lap races in the future, where the car damage and tires and pit stops matter.

The soft, medium, hard determines the tire pressure the higher the pressure (hard) the better the top speed but worse grip because it has a lower friction coefficient. Got to love dem physics.

I'd love to see them run these races with the community. A full field of racers would be chaos. AH thrives on chaos (when they don't make it themselves).

People in the US never cared about F1. Especially after 2005

Gavin making up for the lack of Ryan...

After so many years of playing gta racing you would think Gavin would realize that trying to blast through a 180 degree turn at full speed whilst boosting isn't the way to do it

First lap, Jeremy loses his rear wing and gets oversteer, Gavin loses his front wing and gets understeer. Still takes them forever to realize the aero actually has an effect. Also Jack saying "my go kart skills coming to fruition" and Michael saying "that's not how that works" not knowing that damn near every great Formula 1 driver started out in karting.

ARGH!!! It hurts so much to see them play this, and - apparently - not knowing anything about tire grip or downforce.

@@TotoDG And I don't expect them too - still not sure whether Gavins comment about Lewis Hamilton was meant as a joke or if that is what he really believes is Hamiltons title. But IMHO, stuff like the backwing and frontnose being important, should be basic knowledge.

I think we just found our next fuel let's play. All they have to do is every formula map with ten laps and it's a sure thing. This was a great video!
