We’re excited to share that our new inland port at Horotiu, just north of Hamilton, was officially opened by Transport Minister Phil Twyford at the end of April. The Waikato Freight Hub is a key part of Ports of Auckland's rail-connected North Island freight hub network which links Kiwi businesses with New Zealand and global markets. Our freight hub network will help lower freight costs, reduce carbon emissions, and offer a wider range of shipping services to North Island exporters and importers. The site and facility for our first customer, Open Country Dairy, was blessed by members of Tainui iwi.
