Earthbound 3 Monolith Soft, or better saying, Takahashi already said they want X on switch and the problem is money (interviews).And Monolith Soft founding comes from Nintendo, so I think they are the ones that need to give the green light for the port to happen.

spoiler alert (postgame) Well since Lin is a mim, we dont know how long she's been 13 years old. Like Elma, it said her age is 29. But later they mentioned that Elma's trueform already visited earth 30 years before. Which implies she already older than that, maybe 50 or even hundreds (she's alien). We dont even know if mim is aging or not.

As someone who preordered the game, I can say that the online component was actually immersive. Before there were written guides, you could trust those BLADE reports, and tackling the multiplayer missions when nobody knew what was going on felt great. In other words, it literally felt like the premise of the game, BLADEs trying to survive on this world that they know nothing about and it was executed so well with the online feature. Loved this game so much

It also helps that you can actually run really fast and jump over obstacles (or up mountains with enough patience). Playing Xenoblade 2 and taking forever to run anywhere was frustrating and the tiny movement speed bonuses don't really help much. Please keep map sizes tolerable for the movement speed because if you build a giant area just to make it look awesome, how awesome it looks is going to be the last thing I'll be paying attention to.

Honestly the best Xenoblade game to date. This video doesn't do it justice just giving a synopsis of the main quest, which is only 1/4th of the total story. The side missions are what truly makes it spectacular.

In the game files Tatsu has soul voice lines that are never used. Looks like he was an intended party member at some point but he was reduced to one big food joke. Shame.

I'm a bit late, but just wanted to point out that (if I remember correctly) Tatsu was suppose to let you know about the weather and its effects or forecasting if you have Lin in your party. I can't 100% confirm this, but it's what I remember from pre-lauch covering. In the end he didn't even get that kind of role.

Tatsu is apart of a scrapped feature called guides, those empty squares that appear on the screen when you open the menue are left over from it. He also has two of Riki's clubs on his back so maybe he was going to be in combat?

Finally, someone not shitting on this wonderful game. God I love it, it's so underrated and I really want a sequel.

Mobius 1 It set the bar high, yes, but it also did things massively different from XC1 but many players still tried to play it like the first and failed miserably. Part of the enjoyment of X comes from understanding the experience it means to provide, as well as the tools it gives you to create your own wonderful experience.

I played through the first game, and I didn't remember that at all. To be honest, the first one didn't really leave any tactile memories apart from the ending being a mess (it's almost a series stable it seems -,-). Granted, it's been forever since I played it.

The difference is that in 1, Telethia are a race of monsters, not just a singular existence. The Telethia in X is probably just an easter egg, kinda like how Elma's true form looks like Kos-Mos.

I really want a port to try out the game, since I played it a bit (wondered around the area never reaching the city), but stopped, since I was not really adapted for long play sessions on a Home Console, and never picked it up again. With the Switch I was able to complete Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I hope X comes in so I can give it another try.

@@pizzashark7067 I don't consider the Wii U a waste entirely because of this game. I had more hours in Xenoblade X than Smash or Splatoon (400+ compared to ~350 and ~250). I've done 4 playthroughs of it, and I'm still finding out new things about it. My next playthrough, I'm going to try and kill Luciel the Eternal (level 92 superboss) at level 25.

That thing you said about the game feeling kinda like an MMO is much more accurate than you think. Early trailers showed the online was much different earlier in the games development, where you would go into a lobby where you could actually interact with other players in the world, not just for short online missions.

One of my favorite details about the Skells is that you can step on any enemy that's around the same size as a human. There were times where I would go back to the starting area and just stomp on the enemies like they were ants! XD

This game made me care about the characters... About the lore... The combat, the art style, everything is unique and is beautiful all compiled in a masterfull underrated top tier gem... Love this game.

Same man. Games like this are hard to find. Xeno 1 and 2 are cool, but this one has a certain feel to it that I can't explain.

Oh my god you did the Nagi refuse scene, that part is amazing And yeah those other players you see in the world are basically a way to recruit someone else’s avatar temporarily. But you can join squad missions and global nemesis battles with other players, and work together to kill enemies and collect items together (though you’re not on the same screen, it just shows everyone’s work toward the total).

I need a remaster on switch, this game was my favourite Wii U title and honestly one of my favourite games ever. I think about it all the time ._.

This was my first Xenoblade game, and like you I had no idea what the hell I was doing for a large portion of the game. I didn't even know I could swap the party lead until after I had beaten my first playthrough. And yet, knowing so little was amazing because I was always bewildered by how much there actually was to discover when diving deep into the mechanics and inner workings of the game's system, especially combat. Oh boy, this game's combat has to be my favorite RPG combat system I've ever experienced. And all of this without even going over the world and enemy design. The world is the best I have seen in any game and the exploration alongside the grand sense of scale is simply wondrous. The bizarre alien designs never get old because of how unique they are, and you can find out just how crazy they get by beheading a milesaur, which then reveals its real head was concealed within all along! This kind of detail blew my mind when playing this game for the first time, and it continues to impress me looking back on it. The characters and story are rather weak but I believe the great sidequests, deep combat, endless customization, and top tier world/enemy design easily more than make up for it. Oh and SKELLS. I know for a fact you will enjoy Xenoblade 1 when you get around to it, that game is tied with Xenoblade X as my favorite games of all time.

I have to say, games are much better when they leave you to discover everything about it, even mechanics wise. That way there's no overly long tutorial that slows down the game. Saying that, this game was incredibly fast paced for me, despite playing for over 400 hours...

ik this comment comes months late but. This was my first Xenoblade game and I was so hyped for it back in 2014/15 and I completely fell in love with the series since. Recently finished one (a year ago) and im anticipating the remake. Gave me headaches playing on 3DS. Hope they port this game to Switch though.

Yeah they're Sphinxes. I wiped on my first fight, but when I respawned, the game doesn't force you to engage them both at the same time, for some reason. They aren't a party, they just happen to detect you at the same time once the cutscene is ovre. So I just carefully picked them on separately and was able to deal with them.

@@Skeloperch I respectfully disagree with you their. I thought 2's characters had a lot of personality to them, WAY WAY more than X's cast imo.

Just want to clear up some bits of misinformation here. I’m not blaming you since they’re highly likely to be honest mistakes, but I still need to clear these up. 1. The damage, defense, and pretty much every other stat regarding Skells actually does improve as you level up. You might have been confused by this because there is a level next to each Skell Frame, but these just represent the minimum level required for the Skell to be used by a pilot. Think of the Skells as any other piece of equipment. The Skells with the higher stars will be stronger than ones with lower stats when they’re the same level but that doesn’t mean that simply leveling up won’t make the Skell with lower stats stronger than it was previously. 2. You actually can do most side quests after accepting Story Missions. The only side quests that you can’t do are affinity missions, which just happened to be the type of quest that you attempted to do during Chapter 12. If you had tried doing a normal mission (one that is obtained from the NPCs with question marks over their heads) or a basic mission (one that is obtained from the BLADE concourse) you would have been fine. Just wanted to clear those two things up, thanks.

I don't know if it's a problem with your wording or semantics but Skell stats do not scale with levels. As in, it gets +1 attack and +2 defense on level up or that kind of stuff when you go from Lv30 to Lv31, that doesn't happen. You simply have access to gear with higher stats once you break those level requirements. Getting to Lv50 (and buying the respective Lv50 Skell) will allow you to equip significantly better gear. Skell gear does have an actual level hidden in plain sight (in the name of the gear. Something like XXM140SA is worse than something named XXM150SA for instance) which does improve the gear's parameter, but again, it will never level up or scale gradually. It just *is* stronger and stays that way forever until you level enough to break the next level barrier and equip better stuff.

NEOC - Oh, I guess I always just assumed that it worked that way since that’s how equipment normally works in RPGs. I had seen the level that you’re referring to, of course, but like I said, I thought it was just a level requirement (as in “you need to be at least so-and-so level to use this Skell”). I guess I’ve just never noticed this property. I apologize for this.

Ten2 Knock Well, there’s also Skills and Armor that upgrade Skell abilities. The stats for a Skell don’t level up, but the Skell does get stronger due to the character’s stats increasing. I could be wrong, but I think I’ve cut enough enemies up with a scythe to have realized my level 30 Skell shouldn’t be killing a level 60 enemy with no problems.

@@ten2knock I mean, technically you're right that leveling up grants you ways to augment your skells, but that's either through higher level skell gear (the armor, every 10 levels you get better ones, and you can also get higher level augments for them), or from skills (Galactic Knight, for example). However, your regular stats do not affect your skell stats. Skell stats are static, outside of augments/skills/weapons/armor. No leveling will make your skell stronger. That's why the Ares 90 will always outpace non-level-60 skells, but the level 60 skells outpace the Ares 90 if you put in enough time into min/maxing them with super weapons and augments.

And those "otherwise specified" are, in a (possibly) comprehensive list: • Synchronicity skill (depends on class rank, not level) • Drive Augments (independent of level, you can be Lv5 and have LvXX augments anyways) • Leveling up allowing you to equip better armor, which has higher level Battle Traits-those Battle Traits can be Drive Augments (indirect improvement; the Skell isn't improving because your stats also did, but rather, because you can get better stuff due to level barriers being lifted) * Note: Drive Augments cap at 100%, so, for instance, if you have 5 Melee Attack Drive XX augments, instead of going for a sixth, go for Max GP Drive instead • Leveling up allowing you to use stronger Skells (indirect improvement) • Stronger Skells being able to use stronger weapons (indirect improvement) • This is a stretch, but Surge Augments (independent of level. And it just makes Soul Voice come more often) If you have two characters piloting the Lv20 Urban, one of them Lv20 and the other dude being Lv60, provided that everything is exactly the same aside from their level, there's zero difference in the Skell's performance. It really is best to think of it as an entity completely divorced from the player's character-just because you can run faster than most people and get tired much later, doesn't mean that your car also has better top speed and more efficient fuel consumption Level in this game is a very loose reference, the uploader mentioned it in the video: you shouldn't care about levels as much as size. A 30 level difference is probably trivial, especially if the Lv60 enemy in question is like, a Blatta or something. Now if your Lv30 Skell is killing a Millesaur, ya that's something impressive, but I think it's still doable-someone killed Telethia with a Lv30 Lailah or something. Besides, the E-Scythe is a really powerful weapon. You know how everyone says that the G-Buster is really darn powerful? If the E-Scythe lands a hit on the back, it hits harder than the G-Buster, on top of having better cooldown. -G Buster is still better in most cases because it staggers the enemy-

The story is like the tutorial and the exploring, grinding, build building and superbosses as well as the side quests/affinity missions which unlock new characters and abilities are actually the main part of the game for anyone wondering.

The ending of XX was kinda sad though all that work for nothing

i have finished the game history and i think that they sould continue with it. And yes, the game is one of the best games on the wiiu.

Omg RamZaes I LOVE YOU! This game was my life for the longest time. I put over 250 hours into this game and i thought i was the only one who played...I was wrong.

The combat is actually very deep allows for some crazy cool builds, and you can make infinite overdrive builds easily.

By far my favorite Wii U title. I prey it finds a 2nd life on the switch later on. The game deserves it.

We better get a sequel, so many unanswered questions

Prob now after xenoblade 3

My only problem with X was how some of the character models looked, it was a good game at times. I'm glad to see alot of people like it, it deserves a sequel since the cliffhanger.

Finally X gets the attention it deserves! While nowhere near a perfect game, it was my first Xenoblade game and was what got me hooked on the series. Seeing you do some of the exact same stuff I did (not realizing their was a Battle Menu until hours in, putting a helmet on Lin the moment you could and never taking it off, and dubbing Elma best girl immediately) brought an insane wave of nostalgia. Thanks for reviewing this gem, makes us 3 who actually played it happy And yes, everyone played it offline, even back before the Wii U's online died

This is my favorite Wii U game. I wish Monolith would port it to the switch already...

Lock people in a room with Tatsu until we get a sequel to X. I loved it but that cliffhanger was EVIL.

@@Dr.Farewell Sales wise yes, but pretty much nobody has anything bad to say about that game, so it's rated pretty fairly. Whereas with X it generates a lot of hate for deviating from the first, and usually the hate is unwarranted.

Playing that in year 2020... WiiU keeps disconecting from server and meet some real people online and played whit them... big surprise:) Actuelly I really like this game but the Wii game is much better

Great video as always! One thing I wished you could have talked more on is about how incredible this world is! Maybe it's just a me thing, but I really dig everything in this world we mess around in. It really opened up my interest in world aesthetics, world building...that kind of thing. It's all on a massive scale and are just awe-inspiring, and the vantage points you can get to do nothing but amplify that in spades! It was liberating to finally be on top of that giant rock spire thing in Primordia, or the huge mechanical circular Stargate thing in Oblivion, reaching that somewhat hidden area beyond Noctilum called Divine Roost, and so much more. I know it's a lengthy post about something silly, but I really love this world that was crafted here!

I definitely don't fault you for it, gotta pick your battles and all. Oh man though, being able to fly really set the game on a different level though!

Its like you have the exact same interests in me. You even put the soundtrack for metal slug in some parts. Didnt expect that. But anyways, i have had some interactions with players to do some raids when i played around 2017. Fun stuff

I wasn't fortunate enough to own a Wii U to play this so I actually installed a ROM but that was him and I didn't have access to the MMO features so I should still get a Wii U in play this on the Wii U for the full experience. Aside from not having access to the MMO features I enjoyed the game and its story. The ending is kind of a mind fuck though. It reminds me of how there are no humans on the moon in nier automata and they were all dead begin with. The difference here is each mimiasome is basically a person with the memories of said person and are trying to reconstruct you from your DNA. We actually ended up happening is that the machines that stored everyone's memories were destroyed on impact so fine the lifehold was completely pointless. I'm curious if there's going to be a Xenoblade chronicle x 2 like metal gear an metal gear solid. There's a metal gear 2 and a metal gear solid 2.

I actually think they’re working on the sequel or a port. Even after all this time, the servers are still up for the game. For whatever reason, they never pulled the plug on this game. Furthermore, thanks to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, we now know that this game is part of a big multiverse with God (aka the Conduit) and not just a spiritual successor. Plus, we know that Mira isn’t just a random planet that they found. There’s something weird going on, that’s for sure.

That soundtrack though... Kinda bores into your brain and lives there for the rest of your life. "Woooah, wooah, whoaheewww, weewww"

About the video description, we made it bois, we got pyra/Mythra in smash, we have xenoblade 3 coming out in 21 days, now all we need is a X remake/port…. And maybe a sequel to X after all is said and done.

This is the last U game that needs to make the jump to the Switch. I sincerely hope that after XC1 got a remaster, X will follow.

If you say that Xeno 2's combat was mainly letting the game auto attack, then you didn't play Xeno2 right. First of all there was auto attack canceling, then there were desserts, and finally there was cancel chaining. With these you basically didn't auto attack at all

This game is absolutely amazing. I can't believe how underrated it is. It is without a doubt one of my favorite games. Period.

Of all of them, from Gears to Saga to Chronicles... this one is the best in the Xeno-series. Yes Gears was cool but it's second disk is kinda unforgivable and the first Saga was good until it de-railed at the second game

Did you keep playing after the ending? The game goes on, there are new missions that give you more story and background about what happens and might happen. The final-final mission is positively excellent.

Seeing this game get buried with the Wii-U is a fitting fate for Waifublade burying everything about Xenogears.
