I found this fusion band only recently (regrettably), and was immediately convinced that this band has the highest level of musicianship (musicality/virtuosity) and showmanship (visual/theatrical effects) Actually, I think this band is among the best fusion bands ever existed, and the very best when it comes to originality and showmanship. Moreover, they can sing/play so effortlessly with smiles on their faces! As a live performer, this band is peerless.

I can binge-watch Wagakki Band concert videos all day and night! 😄

New Years special at Yokohama Arena Jan. 27 2018. . . . Last June a few days after I saw Nemophila at Zepp Bayside in Osaka, a friend took me as a guest to Wagakki Band's fanclub event at the same venue. It wasn't the 1st time I saw WB but it was up-close-and-personal, and I discovered (actually I already knew) that they are very bright, have a very wide range of music tastes, and keep up with the news of all the other bands (including Nemophila). . . . "Ikusa" is an old-fashioned term for "battle", and the song was used for the theme of a game and anime set in the Warring States period of Japan's history. "Hakushu Kassai" means more than "applause". It's a poetic expression that means applause and acclaim.

@@TheCyberMantis Appreciate your replies man. I'm not a member of the fanclub but the friend I saw Nemophila's concert with is, so I went as a guest. You know, if I had Elon Musk's money, instead of wasting it on t w t r, I'd spend it on a world-super-tour of 10 or 12 Japanese bands, Wagakki Band and Lovebites included. The word "epic" is used a lot, but that really would be!

Absolutely amazing!

Though I’m a guitar player, my 1st attention, when I came to know this band recently, went to the drummer, who immediately reminded me of 1 of my very fave drummers, Dave Weckl. This vid confirms my 1st impression. He’s 1 of the best drummers out there.

They are such an amazing band, they're all having fun and their songs are so good

I was at their 2016 (Tokyo) and 2017 (Saitama) New Year's show and they were incredible!! Missed Yokohama in 2018 but it looked like an amazing performance again!

Wagakki Band plays what they want and it always sound fantastic. The 2018 New Year's show is my favorite of the Daishinnenkai concerts, though there really isn't a bad one (and no one has uploaded anything from the 2019 version, oddly enough). I hope everyone that saw them at Yokohama Arena knows how special that show was.

You don't see Dai shinenkqi 2019 Ryugo no tobira, because KZread and probably avex trax says so. I've seen uploads, but they don't last long.

Just amazing. incredible level of instrument-playing skills. so exquisite and visually beautiful. This stage performance is the highest level of entertainment beyond the "band"

I love every second of their performances!

I can suggest from Wagakki Band : Overture, for me the best performance live with Orchestra and piano by Yuko!

Two great reactions, three great songs, that was a treat for mid-week and no mistake. The first song Ikusa (Battle/War) the second song Hakushu Kassai (applause)

The latter part which you said is your favourite song is Hakushu-Kassai (Applause). I agree with you in that it is packed with best elements of this band. The lyrics is about the cross-over of West and East, new and old and etc..., i.e. about exactly what they are just doing.

This is the MAKAIZOU (magical modification) that Japan is proud of. A heavy METAL that lands in Japan becomes a traditional Japanese festival music or a cute HAPPY METAL. The common denominator is "fun" 😁.

The first song was Ikeda followed by Hakushu Kassai. I’m American and I think they are one of the greatest bands ever but western countries know nothing about them. A good suggestion for you for your chanel is a combo video with a song called Kyokasegstsu followed by Tsukini Sabe your. They were going to be one of the headliners for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 but the Olympics were pushed back a year because of Covid then when the Olympics were held in 2021 their show canceled again because of Covid and if they were allowed to perform it would have enhanced their world stature.

Daishinnenkai 2018 "Ashita e no Kōkai" (Voyage to Tomorrow) Yokohama Arena (max capacity 17k) two days in a row is probably one of the best performances they have done. Only Daishinnenkai 2019 at Saitama Super Arena (max capacity 36k) two days in a row can compare. Unfortunately, there is no video from that concert on YT. Avex has taken care of that. A few have been uploaded with still images and Senbonzakura with sound and some clips from the 2019 performance in a compilation video. (Both concerts had a large stage, so maximum capacity was probably not available at any of the concerts) You have not reacted to their masterpiece "Sabakunokomoriuta" from the "Otono Kairou" Tour 2018. And Beni Ninagawa solos "Lycoris" on her new sev-designed electric Shamisen.

Thanks for reacting to "Hakushu kassai" I love this song and have recommended it before. This song gives me a lot of energy, which combines a number of short solos for each instrument. i agree and if you just listen to the first 20 seconds of that video your jaw will drop to the ground . I promise ....

Couple more great songs from wagakki band. Btw. You can find these same songs separately from same concerts with english sub. I suggest look those out if want know how lyrics goes. Most wagakki band songs can find with english subs, and some other languages too. I personally like vietsub because there is always Rōmaji sub too. Rōmaji helps me learn speak the language.
