Join us for a walk around Wadebridge, Cornwall, England, UK. We explore Wadebridge town centre, starting our walk on Molesworth Street by Wadebridge Police Station. We pass the lively Molesworth Arms, Wadebridge’s oldest pub. We cut through the lane by Victoria Antiques, walking down Foundry Street, passing Wadebridge Computers along Polmorla Walk, then onto The Platt, passing Polmorla Road, past Swan Hotel and back up Molesworth Street, finishing our walk by Wadebridge Bookshop.
Wadebridge is a town in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The town straddles the River Camel five miles upstream from Padstow.
Wadebridge is one of North Cornwall's main market towns and gateway to the Camel Trail. Wadebridge is a centrally located town and has much to offer visitors all year round.
The Molesworth Arms is one of the oldest Inns in Wadebridge. Previously known as The Fox, The King's Arms and The Fountain, this coaching Inn got its current name in 1817.
The main shopping street in Wadebridge (Molesworth Street) is pedestrianised through construction of an inner link road, allowing traffic-free shopping.
The last passenger train left Wadebridge railway station in 1967 following railway cutbacks. The old railway trackbed is now the Camel Trail, and the Bodmin and Wenford Railway heritage railway runs on part of the route.
Wadebridge is home to the Royal Cornwall Showground which in June hosts the Royal Cornwall Show, one of the major agricultural shows in the UK, providing a fascinating glimpse into rural life in the country.
The Camel Trail is a permissive cycleway in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, that provides a recreational route for walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders. The trail is flat and provides access to the beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line running from Padstow to Wenford Bridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin, it is 17.3 miles long and used by an estimated 400,000 people each year. The Camel Trail is managed and maintained by Cornwall Council.
