As Bob Wills once said "aw get it low son, get it low." Wicked fine trombone solo by Charlie Halloran. 😊👍👍

Notice the mutes being used. Plunger mute for Charlie, a plastic cup from the bar for Nathan, and even Tom gets in on the act on clarinet using his hand.

Yep, vintage Charlie. I was impressed by Nathan Wolman on trumpet. It was the first time I've seen him. I saw Doro Watt the night before at The Maison and Charlie told me Ben Polcer was in town but didn't say why he wasn't at his usual spot on trumpet either night.

@@JamesSterling I've never seen or heard Nathan Wolman. He is very good. And I learned only recently that Ben Polcer is so well known. He must be the son of Ed Polcer.

@@gordonbainbridge8371 Indeed, he is Ed's son. Ben was at the forefront of the post Katrina trad jazz revival in New Orleans. He was with The Loose Marbles and it has been said he encouraged Shaye and helped her learn the cornet. He has played in many different bands inluding SJB, and Meschiya Lake with The Little Big Horns. He is not only a great trumpet player but a kick ass pianist and vocalist.

@@JamesSterling Great comment. Thanks for the information. In the last month or so, I've gone through all of the Loose Marbles and Meschiya Lake videos I can find. And many others. The history of the talent in NO and the changing relationships is truly amazing. What a great period in our country's music.
