Thank you for this video, I couldn't find any other video on youtube for the E Class W213 for the LED Star. I called multiple dealers, they don't carry nor can they order the Star. It is apparently "stock build" only? So if it isn't installed with the car at initial build, it isn't something you can add later...which is what was basically explained to me. However with this video I see you managed to order the LED Star separately and install it. I can't even find this part on Amazon, Mercedes or Ebay, so is there a source you used to order this? Thanks again for the video!

How did you determine the fuse slot that should be used for the install?

Please can you tell me for a mercedes w213 which fuse location should I use because me the fuse location you used in your video is empty on my car? I put the bare cable without the metal part and the fuse of 5 and its not working please tell me which fuse works with the daytime LEDs.

I have one question if i install a illuminated star it will be turn on automatically when light will light up but is there any chance the illuminated star to turn on only during the night?

I’m not sure if you forgot to mention, but are you suppose to disconnect the battery before messing with the fuse box?

miguel hernandez Its definitely a good idea. I never bother with disconnecting the battery personally. But yes everyone disconnect your batteries.

i have questions! You star light only working on all time or just working on when you headlight is on?

Only when lights are on. The parking lights or headlights.

Multiple sites say this is for 2019 only. Was the star not made until the 2019 model year?

Marcus Soori I have no idea. My MB is a 2018. And the part # I got from my dealership was for my VIN for a 2018. And it obviously works. So even if a site says 2019 only but it works 100% on a 2018 Im not sure what the concern is?

Hi I have a GLC 300 2020. Does anyone know how to take out the emblem in order to replace with illuminated star. Not sure if it pops out by prying the front face or do we have to take the grille out and pop the clips from the backside?

Its the same. Just turn it to the left. It pops out.

Would it be the same process for a w212? Sadly my e350 is 2016 :/

601sdh MB dealer. You can probably get a replica on Ebay Amazon.

Did you have to disconnect the battery to avoid any potential electrical problems?

I didn’t know they had different ones. So the regular US model code W213.

Obviously, you're car doesn't have distronic or distronic plus on it. Everyone needs to know that if your have the distronic or distronic plus, you can't put on the illuminated star. The reason for this is because the LED EMF will disrupt the function of the distronic. FYI

Distronic is awful. Who on earth buys a Mercedes Benz, only for a computer to control it for you? Hated it. Never again.

@@atmdee4108 bit late but if yall are still wondering. yes, it says 2019 + e300 in part description but it will fit in 2017, 2018 as well

Is the star on while engine is running or just on unlock ?

Yes, it is on with the courtesy lights. It does not matter if the car is running or not but longer courtesy lights are on the star will be on.

@@Gspeed35x the day running lights ? They are always on even if the headlights are on aren’t they ? So should always be on as long as lights are on auto

But is not supposed to be on all the time,in Europe is not allowed while the car is running,that is why Mercedes want 600$ for the whole package,because has also a unit that controlls when the star is on

That's still a joke in price. You can just tap into the headlight with an adapater where when the headlights are on, the star is on. $30 for that to happen, if that.

DriverStein what do you think Mercedes does? I just got a quote from them to do it. They do the same thing.... instead they use a fuse adapter and t tap right into another fuse cause it’s quicker. They don’t install a module or anything. They tap into the parking light or into the headlight. They don’t have some sort of module that does special things. T tap won’t burn anything. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Sorry

Gspeed 35x Thanks, the engine bay and the fuse box is located your w214 look similar to my glc, but I will need to do more research on my end. But great tutorial of it turns out to be the same🙂

Absolutely not enough.

This a way to do this. But not the best way i would never drill a hole in my car. Or fully open the fusebox!
