FINALLY FOUND THIS!!! Just a quick question I have a 2011 E550 4matic.. What type of transmission filler did you get? Also did you get it at like in advance auto? I plan on doing this tomorrow.. Front diff leaks slowly and it's about out

There is fill hole on top of diferential. Acces is via front hood, need disassemble air filter hoses left side.

Interesting. Merc factory service manual says to pull the axle. "The front axle transmission does not have an oil filler hole and must be filled via the opening in the pinion housing.

@@karlt10 On my parts diagram it shows a breather/cap at the top of the front differential. Mercedes part# 2303500490. I was able to locate it looking down the right side of the engine with a flashlight but the back of the alternator is right there and connectors seem in the way. My hands aren't that small to even reach it nevermind remove it. If pulling out the passenger axle isn't there a gasket or seal that could get messed up?

@@timb7775 This is interesting... If you look-up the front axle, it does show the breather. Wonder why the service manual says to pour it into the side of the housing.

Behind the alternator. You have to remove it.

Dang, remove the alternator just to fill the differential… nice engineering. I’ll try this pump from beneath method instead with 650mL

you can buy the 722.9 transmission fill adapter and use one of those fluid transfer pumps from auto zone. thats how i did the front differential and my transmission. its the same plug for both.

Did you get a leak from the front differential after this? I filled it up with the same amount and it started leaking.. I then heard that it’s 650L not 1.1, different from what the manual suggests. Please let me know. Thank you!

I also heard 650mL. When I do mine I'm going to drain and measure it to be sure.

Hello, hopefully you respond.. Where do I get this adaptor, and pump/hose to fill the front differential? can you send a link? I just see an adaptor for the transmission of the W204, using the same method.. is it the same size? thank you !

It is the same size as the automatic transmission. The attachment has an M12x1.5mm thread

Hello, Do not do like this, that is the drain only port! On top you find the fill port! Fill by there.

It's not, he is filling by the drain plug. The filling port is on top.
