W048 Try Your Hand at Chatter Work on the Wood Lathe

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Have you ever wanted to create a special and unique finish on your turned parts to make it stand out from the crowd? Take a look at this technique presented by Dick Sing. This technique, called chatter turning, uses what normally would be a bad problem (chatter) and turns it into a very attractive accent on turned parts.

I have watched quite a number of videos on using a chatter tool. This is by far the most comprehensive and well explained. I cannot believe they are only a few comments. Some woodworkers I’m really missing out. Thank you again.

Hi Joe, Thanks for the feedback. I have been trying to promote these videos and can't seem to get an audience, not sure why not. There are a lot of resources here but not very many people seem interested. If you can, please help spread the word about this channel, perhaps we can bring more people in.

Hi Sethwarner2540, Unfortunately, I filmed Dick doing that 20 years ago, I can't remember that sort of detail. My guess would be that it is the tip. Cheers! Chris
