W. Oregon Sara Tucholsky first HR - ultimate sportsmanship

Спорт

Western Oregon Sara Tucholsky hit her first career HR with the help from Central Washington - ultimate sportsmanship. She tore her ACL running back to 1st as she missed it initially. Ump she if didn't run the bases by herself, the HR wouldn't count. If her teammates touched her, it would be void.
The opposing team saw her pain and did the unexpected, they picked her up and helped her touch each base.
Central Washington lost the game, 4-2
Sportsmanship at its best.

The day they showed this on ESPN I was late to practice because I had to watch the rest of this! It made me cry... my teammates asked me if I'd broken up with my girlfriend! This is a terrific example of class and sportsmanship, God bless those people.

Character is the most impressive trait that anyone can display. It is the most underrated, under-emphasized, and under-taught trait in society today, but when true character is displayed, nobody misses it. Character is unmistakable. These girls are awesome. Thanks for posting this video.

I'm a 56 year old man and I'll tell you, this clip brought tears to my eyes. So great to hear a bit of good news these days. I wish I was a millionaire, because if I was I'd give the two girls that carried her around the bases a scholarship. I hope someone steps forward and does something special for these young ladies. And can you imagine how proud their parents must be.

You know, i'm typing from Poland so i may not really get what this game's all about, but the part with the opposite team members helping her in that very special moment... Parents of those two girls can be proud of them. REALLY PROUD! It may only be a game, but- those girls showed something that's SO IMPORTANT not only in sport, but in life as well... They both showed what they hold in their hearts. Amazing story indeed.

This is awesome!! Reminds of my brother - he was playing basketball in jr high and the other team had a player with cerebral palsy. This kid could barely run, but gave his heart out. They get to their end of the court, and they passed the ball to him. Instinctively, my brother went to block him. He then realized it was the cerebral palsy kid he was blocking. My brother side-stepped out of the way, opening up a shot for the kid. The kid took the shot...and the ball went in! That kid was elated, hobbling back down the court to the other side, throwing his hands up cheering -probably the first time that's ever happened to him. The kid's coach, from the opposing team, stopped the game and walked up to my brother, shook his hand and thanked him. That was like 30 yrs ago, and do this day, I've never seen anyone genuinely happy as that kid was, nor have I ever been proud of or admired anyone like I did my brother on that day. I should give my brother a call. See ya, fellas.

While it was wonderful that Miss Tucholsky got the hit, the real heroes in this story are Miss Holtman and Miss Wallace, for being able to put competition aside and carry out (no pun intended) this amazing act. German pilots escorting shot-up bombers to neutral ground, American 101-Airborne medics tending to Axis and Allied wounded alike in a small church in France that kept change hands, so on and so forth. When humanity decides to show itself, it's a beautiful thing whether in war on or a ball field. (Not arguing with you Kegginstructure, your comment just got me a'thinking).
