@@thegreatsalmon137 In the US your GPA and standardized test scores are factored into your acceptance to college. You still have the same meritocratic system in socially democratic countries, you have tests in college (your high school years) to admit you to university as well as resumes and letters of recommendation to submit. The process is no different getting in but the university is much more accessible because you only have the hurdle of grades and tests without the mountain of debt because taxes collectively fund secondary education.

@@calebbrown8365 You left out two important things. One, in the US, while your gpa and academic performance does play a factor, it does not prevent anyone from pursuing secondary education. No one is, nor can be, denied access to a school for their low gpa or poor test scores. You won't get into a good school, but you'll get in somewhere. Whereas in socialist countries, and those which have a socialist inspired education system and other policies, if you're not above a certain threshold academically, you're not allowed to get a secondary education in those countries. Because they are paid for by the taxpayers, and therefore they only accept people they think will excel or at the very least graduate. The result of not meeting the requirements (like being top 10 in math in your school, just an example), means you can either attend a trade school if you qualify for that, enter the workforce in an unskilled or low qualified position, join the military (mandatory for men in most of these countries), or pursue a secondary education in the US. The other thing you neglected to mention is that the schools in these countries are extremely difficult to get into because of capacity reasons. They cannot accommodate all the students who actually perform high enough to attend, so many of them are sponsored to attend foreign universities, often in the US. So ultimately, while the American capitalist-style secondary education system may not be free, and many of our schools are sub-par, other countries and foreign students still rely on our schools to fall back on because their own system is very exclusionary.

And in football, I have seen the use of an underhand “shovel pass,” sort of like a lateral. Unless the contest rules make it clear that the ball must be thrown in a particular way (I.e., “overhand”) it seems she’s entitled to claim the prize. Happy New Year to you…JT

It's honestly extremely smart. The reason QBs throw the way they do is that they need to be accurate over a distance and for the ball to be easy to catch. The goal here is completely different, it's to be as fast as possible while being accurate over a very short distance. It doesn't look cool, but she's honestly simply using the better technique. This is first principles thinking. Smart and she deserves the win.

Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry's method of shooting free throws underhanded didn't look cool either, but he maintained a 90% free throw percentage over the course of his career. In the history of the NBA, only three other players can claim a higher lifetime percentage. Nevertheless, you don't see any current NBA players shooting their free throws underhanded because, well, looking cool is more important to them than scoring points.

you don't need to pay anything to study. You can get lot of free and better info and knowledge on the net. That is if you use it for that instead of watching random yt videos. And I am not even joking. If you are serious, then studying from the net is way better anyways. You get to learn from actual successful people who know what they are doing instead of not successful and stupid college professors. Also you get practical instead of theoretical knowledge.
