The fortepiano just has that wonderful unique sound. Like a cross between a pianoforte and a harpsichord. The subtleties and soul of a piano but that wonderful aggressive and sharp "twang" of a harpsichord. I really wish they weren't as obscure. Alas! Wonderful performance by the way.

This gave me a lift, a crisp interpretation and a pleasure to listen to during a very wet and dismal day.

@@makokodama0513fantastic playing excellent, iam learning to play this fab sonata, i have humbly speaking managed to sight read the whole of the sonata, though I have been concentrating on the 1st movement and rondo alla turca a bit more than the menuetto and trio, I have to get back to it, bc it is a fab second movement of the A major sonata, iam pleased with my progress, I think very soon I will be able to play it more fluently, so I will be happy to accomplish this, 😊 greetings from wales uk 😀

You have played with such spirit and joy, and I have shared in your delight. Thank you, Mako. I am not a musician myself, but a lover of music, and I admire the sound of that instrument. It transports me to the past, to the 18th or 19th century, when I might have walked by a window and heard a lady or a gentleman practicing or playing on such a pianoforte. It has a warm and cozy feel to it, don’t you think? And I am also fascinated by the visual aspect of it, especially the reversed arrangement of the keys.

This is a remarkable instrument. I agree with the other commenter that it appears to be a hybrid of a harpsichord and piano.

This is the best performance of grace notes ever played with a piano. Grace notes shouldn't be loud, but as they require speed, people hit the keys too fast and too heavily, we hear nasty passage. Thank you Mako. I quite enjoyed Mozart with comfortable florid passages.

Well done. The hand crossing is really difficult in this sonata.

This kind of fortepiano is the last type that improved on the design of the first ever piano builder, Cristofori. Tiny hammers are inside. The sound does resemble the harpsichord a bit. Cristofori described the piano: like a harpsichord that is loud and quiet, but the mechanism is different. This kind of piano, Bach at first did not approve, but after changes later, Bach approved. :)

I would not compare it to the bets of the best interpreation, but there is quite a nice feeling listening to this. It is by no mean a poor interpretation, very nicely done.
