Vybz Kartel murder conviction overturned in Uk appeal court
The UK Privy Council has quashed the murder convictions of dancehall entertainer Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer and three other men, ruling that the case be sent back to Jamaica’s Court of Appeal for a ruling on whether they should be retried.
Kartel, entertainer Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John were convicted in 2014 for killing Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams in 2011.
Kartel and the others were sentenced to life imprisonment.
However, the Privy Council said in its judgment a short while ago that the men’s convictions should be quashed on the ground of juror misconduct.

Hang on a moment... This conviction was thrown out because a member of the jury was found out to have been trying to bribe other members and possibly others within the system - to find the defendant "not guilty"? However the defendant was found guilty - so the corrupt juror's plans didn't even work? Yet as there was a corrupt juror, there needs to be a retrial because the defendant who tried to get a juror to bribe/intimidate other jurors into finding him innocent, but didn't achieve what he was illegally trying to achieve? I guess their claim is that they had nothing to do with those shenanigans and they might have hindered his right to a fair trial??? Ultimately isn't this why we have judges - aka Human Beings, presiding over matters in the first place? This is peak silliness.
The english royal family is the head of state in jamaica, its literally part of the uk empire it just has its own prime minister like england, scotland, wales, northern ireland, canada, australia, new zealand, a load of carribean islands, 2 or 3 south american countries guyana is one, a whole load of south pacific islands and a few african nations, they are "independent" in the fact they all have their own prime ministers but the queen/king is the head of state, the courts and laws are owned by his/her majesty thats why they can appeal to the english courts,when you commit a crime you fight against the kings/queens prosecution etc etc etc
