VW T4 Inner and Outer Track Rod End (no special tools)

No special tools! Replacing the inner track rod end on a Volkswagen Transporter T4 SWB 1.9 TDi
In the video I measure the length of the old rod. I check this again before I screw in the new one, but I forgot to film this. It is a double check as well as counting the number of turns.
I hope this video helps you out.

WildPhotoShooter Make sure to keep the tracking the same by counting the number of turns out of the old rod end, and do the same number of turns with the new one, provided that is that they are the same length. Have fun doing it , it is not a big job, best to start earlier in the day though! Thanks for watching!!

Only count turns IF new end identical in length, if not then measure. Hey, I thought this was no special tools needed, that was a joint splitter wasn't it....? I've just released my taper by hitting the side (as seen on many other vids) with a lump hammer, you don't need a splitter, a hammer properly used will free a taper.
