VW NO START ISSUE FIXED!

I this video I show a fix for a common no start issue with vw passat. I removed, tested and installed that starter. I jump started the car with the key turned to the on position and jumped the hot wire the the ignition controlled wire on the started and the car started. I checked all the fuses and relays. I replaced the battery and non of this was the issue for the no start. I found a vw forum where someone posted doing all the things I posted above and also installed a new ignition switch with no luck. He posted later that a mechanic fixed the problem by locating a corroded wire coming off the comfort control modular or CCM. I removed the carpet on the driver side to expose the CCM and found 2 wires soldered to 1 wire coming off the CCM. I wiggled the solder point and was able to start the car. Too much work for such a small issue.

Man, you just saved my life and my car. A few days ago it ran for 3 days straight here in Southern California. And I noticed water all on my floor board. Shortly after all the electrical stuff started to go haywire. Then The car just ceased to crank. I was about to abandon my car, and I found you on KZread. My problem was that the whole electrical unit that's encased in removable plastic case, was completely submerged underwater underneath my floorboard. Took it out opened it up drain the water and it started right up! Thanks man!

I replaced my module but couldn't figure out how it got wet till today. My 99 Passat has a sunroof and the drains were plugged so water ran down firewall passed fuse box and you guessed it into to comfort module. I also removed a metal drain plug behind drivers seat and it's still draining water.. Thanks for video hopefully my comment will help someone else!!

I suggest doing a capacitive discharge of the car battery before changing out parts. Disconnect both battery terminals, starting with the ground - (negative), connect both connection leads with a jumper wire for at 1 minute. Reconnect both battery terminals, hopefully that helps. That worked with my car!

I have a 2009 b6 Passat, 2.0T with the same issue. Not starting. I replaced the 406 relay but same problem. I ordered 2 109 relays, but I cannot find it anywhere. Not under the dashboard, anywhere. I will try this early in the morning. It’s been 3 weeks since, now my rotors are getting very rusted from inactivity.

Thanks for the video. My 2006 VW Passat just stopped working two days ago. The Low Oil Pressure light came on and the car was pulled over immediately but now it won’t start. You may want to check if the fuel pump is working. If your in the car with the windows up and top up turn the key to first position (not trying to start it). You should hear a slight hum. You could pull the seats down to help hearing. The pump should be located in the truck area. If you do hear it then there's many possibilities for why it's not starting. If you don't you can find a bunch of videos of how to replace it. I had a no start issue a couple of times with the vw and the pump was one of the big ones. There's also some electronics that go bad. I forget the one I replaced for no start but it was a little sensor on the driver of engine where you can't really see it. Not to overwhelm but it could be crankshaft position sensor or ignition coils. To be honest my experience with the vw was troubleshooting every couple of months.

First thing you should know (unless you like walking) is NEVER let your gas get low enough to run dry, it’s the best way to burn out your fuel pump regardless of car type… and THAT can be very pricey to fix

I too have a 2008 Jetta 2.0 FSI BPY engine.. cranks but will not start. Replaced the cam sensor with an off brand a couple months ago.. scanner has been saying it needs a new PCM, haven't replaced it yet. It stated at -2° outside now will not start at 36°. I am seeing RPM's on dash while cranking, and on scanner data. No codes. Can hear fuel pump kick on behind me, has new high pressure mechanical fuel pump and follower on engine. I dunno anymore. Smh.
