VW Golf MKIII 2.0 ABA w/ TT Cam, Chip and Magnaflow Exhaust
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
VW Golf MKIII, 2.0 8v ABA 5spd. TT 266 (270) Cam, TT Cam Chip, VR6 injectors, Custom Ported TB, Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and BFI .5 stage mounts. This is a cold start with a couple rev's. The car's chip doesn't settle the rev's until about 30 seconds of running so there is a pretty nice lope to the engine during this time. The cat's shield is loose, that's what you hear rattling.

The 260* camshaft does not need aftermarket HD valve springs. Max lift on OBD2 (96+) cars is .432" before the coils bind, and your engine can fail. If you want to get HD valve springs, get a 276* camshaft. Huge gain over the 266, way more power, and a useable 7k redline.
Nice, I went with an obd1 german built head swap on my 97 aba, HD springs and the 272 cam, with the chip to match. All tt minus the head. Pulls hard through 7k, had my chip set at 7,500 redline. Need to post vid soon. Have one with the 260 and stock head with chip.

Any idea how much power this adds ?? I've heard 30 hp
A 270* would be too much for stock valve springs unless your car is a 93-95. 270* cams can potentially cause a CEL. A 260* cam is a great first cam and it shouldn't cause any CEL's or harm the car.
sounds so beast!
@lordfireblade It's an awesome upgrade. I loved the difference and the idle is AWESOME..
Love it, so throaty
@lordfireblade I think it's worth it. It's a better tune and provides the correct AFR mixture, timing and spark that you need. Granted, they probably only change the AFR. This is a mild cam.
@thatoneguyxoxo OBDII (1996+ is OBDII) and I didn't have to upgrade the valvetrain. If you go one step above the 268 (270) TT Cam you have to go with HD lifters, springs, and retainers.
Just swapped my injectors for vr6 injectors!

what are the v6r injectors??? link?
i love it
Thanks! I miss it. Lol
@OnyxXP Do you not have to upgrade the valvetrain on ABA engines? I've heard that on my Mk4 BEV (2004.5) 2.slow that I have to do springs at the very least. I was between doing the same 266/270 cam or the 260, was thinking 260 just because its a hell of a lot cheaper to have installed (not mechanically inclined).
@MA70Ed Thanks!
hey man jus wondering any lights come on for ur cam? i no the 260 cam throws a cheak engine light and i was thinking of going with the 268 tt cam but idk if i have to upgrade anything.. and u read u said a 270 u didnt do anything so wat do u think?? please help... also any gain in power
techtonics tuning
obd 1 or 2? did you have to upgrade the valve springs?
tt is a tuning name for vw parts
Um, just want to point out that you are giving out potentially dangerous information. OBD2 valve springs have a max lift of .432" before they bind, and cause valve float. Anything higher than 432" on a OBD2 head without HD valvesprings is a recipe for disaster, the biggest can you should run stock is the TT 260*. OBD1 heads have dual stage valve springs, and can run up to 450" of lift and can rev to 7k safely. Just saying. I have built several ABA's.

since 11 years have passed i hope you respond, but with the hd valvesprings and the 276 cam what redline should i expect? Is 7k safe enough?
High- flow or stock cat??
please help me..lol... stock 2.0 aba mk3 gti i want to cam it but not do internal work.. i herd 260 will trow lights and wont work good and this guy said 270 will b great im confused and dont want to hurt the car please help thanks
how much hp gain???
Why do you still have the cat?
Hello.., forgive my ignorance but when you say TT, do you mean out of an Audi.?? Iv just bought a (1997 Mk3 8V 2.0 GTI) and im on the learn. Also what Bhp have did you get all in.. thanks Mark

That's false. The max lift of OBD2 springs is .432".. A TT 268 has 440" of lift. You're going to have valve float. If the cam is bigger than 432" lift, you need HD valve springs if you're motor is OBD2. OBD1 motors can have higher lift because they have dual rate valvesprings from the factory. They can handle 450" of lift.
that just sounds ridiculous
