The primary reason for the two position (lower) floor in the cargo area is where you store the parcel shelf.

I have ordered a golf 8 life but upgraded to moonstone grey and Ventura wheels. Mine is expected to be delivered in august time. Looking forward to it

Dean Crane Hi have been looking to buy one of these has yours proved to be reliable so far?

It's growing on me like mould on my bread, however I've got a basic one as a courtesy car in August when my MK7 is serviced. Will spend most of the day playing around with the info screens most probably.

Really like it!! Extremely smart way sharper than the previous mk7 in my opinion

Looks getting better like you I thought originally it was not great!!

I have a question when does this car release in the us?

I'm getting a new car in January and I can't decide between this and the new mazda 2 gt sport. Has anyone got any advice?

So when all the software running the car needs to be updated in say 10 years time,will you be able to download it yourself,or will the owner have to pay a large chunk of kerching to VW?

I thought about playing for the GTI this week but I went for the Leon Cupra instead as it looks better.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

The issue with the front is not the lights, but that sudden slope right above the badge that doesn't blend at all with the rest of the body shape. It's just hideous.

Yes just too much touch screen controls for me .Was going to order one but iam torn honestly think my 7.5 golf suits me better and quite a few things missing on the 8 and no longer available as options .A backward step in lots of ways I fee v w

I’ve ordered the new Golf 8 1.5 eTSI Style 150ps in Dolphin Grey a month a go! I won’t be getting it until end of January because of so many orders, which I thought was strange because an overwhelming majority of people on KZread say it looks awful inside and outside!

How is it? I’ve just ordered the 1.5etsi r-line in moonstone grey. Been told 12 weeks roughly so expected start of may but can’t wait for it to come!

@@norfolknuthouse6890 Haha that's gas I'm stuck between those colours, I've a dolphin grey mark 7 and really tempted to go moonstone grey in the mark 8. Defo in r line spec.., looks class!

I've got a mk7, but considering the new golf or T-ROC,but not feeling the no button's, prefer button's as its easier to use

Has the vw8 got reverse cameras as standard

yeah mine was delivered last week and i was shcoked my 2013 mk7 GT came with folding mirrors!

The little DSG gear switch on the Mk8 is great - I mean why do you need anything more on an auto ! - do miss an actual fuel gague tho. If there is no brexit deal the style/dsg/metallic will be over £30k

@@tommorrell9895 only had it a few days now, weather has been too bad here to drive but I'm enjoying it. Only fault is the infotainment system is quite footery with it being mostly all touch. Physical buttons for heating could be better but I will get used to it. Lovely car to drive and quite spacious too for being the car it is. I have the 150bhp r line and does the job for me. Not a petrol head and was looking for something sensible I could afford thru this pandemic. I recommend yeah

Or keep the fat wheels save money, torsion beam is still very good on Squidgy 16 wheels

It has grew on me slightly but I still think its ugly. Especially as a mk7 gtd owner. I'm sure it'll be a great car however

What about reliability?

I think it looks better than previous gen I love it

The rear sloping roofline is horrible looking. Bring back the button and knob controls. To much high tech BS, roll it back to MK5 levels.

Good review mate bit this is a pointless update, 7.0, 7.5, 8, it's not a phone update lol. Overpriced imo.

It’s quite an important update as the 7.5 was only minor revisions but the 8 is a new look. Will be interested to see how it sells, so far, things look promising. Especially when the R and Clubsport models are available.

VW screwed the Golf up with the MK 8. Infotainment buttonless crap! Lucky I bought a MK 7.5 and the end of 2019. I like the the MK 7.5 looks more.

The interior looks nice and I'm sure it's a good car, but possibly one of the worst looking cars in the segment, that sloping front end is awful.

VW missed the mark with this version. Not for me.

I have just bought a brand new golf auto (style) and its the worst car I have ever driven. The good thing about it is the colour. On a test drive, with a similar car it was good, that's why I bought it. I've just paid £32000 for a diabolical, most crappy car I have ever owned. It's appalling, total crap.
