Good info. Previous Owner of ours turned the engine compartment electrical into a spaghetti mess & removed the heating system components. Rebuilding now. Thanks for the great info!!!

Excellent video, just had a small engine fire that melted that relay. This helps me so much!

Perfect! Like you my bus came without any heating - I found most of the parts and blower but wasn't sure how it all went back in. I'm in Pennsylvania so my bus doesn't see the winter months but I'd like the blower to be in there to help with the heat when drivingin the summer months

Awesome, thank you. I'm currently shopping for a bus and researching the heater system. I definitely need to have the heater working in the climate I'm in. Thanks again!

My advice is buy a bus first then worry about everything else! These things are constantly going up in price. I know a bunch of guys who run aftermarket heaters inside if you're worried about the inside being cold.

Awesome job, thanks so much. I'm looking forward to getting the blower working in my 74 Bay window.

Excellent video! I wish more people would do videos on how to deal with finding ways to deal with “unobtainium” VW parts.

Excellent video! Many thanks for the info. I was hoping for some footage of the ducting under the bus too. Any chance you can show the underside of how the ducting connects etc? Many thanks!

Hi Wondering if I could email you a couple pics of my old fan, and the new fan for any tips on adapting the old wiring to the new wiring/connector.

Good video. But I’m not sure off the part at the 14 minute mark where you said if you don’t cover the open heater hole you will over heat the motor. I’m not a mechanic but how if that’s drawing heat in anyway from the engine??? Serious question. As I said I’m not a mechanic by any stretch. And I’m in the middle of getting this all organised. Cheers.

Since the engine is air cooled it relies on fresh cool air from your ram air vents to cool the engine. If those holes are left open then the cooling fan will draw a lot of that heat in and will cause temp issues in the warmer months

I found the blower motor new on Bus Depot for $230.

They must have just came back out with it. That part has been discontinued for years!
