I have Vsett 10+ as well. I don't need any steering damper. Vsett 10+ is very stable even at 40+ mph. My max speed is 45 mph and it still stable. My height is 6'5".

It’s not the issue of the scooter being built well or well balanced, it’s for when you go over a bump and eat shit going 50 mph because of gyroscopic procession. The scooters wheels aren’t big enough for a gyroscopic effect that is able to keep the scooter up with one or no hands. Unlike a motorcycle that can stay upright with no hands on moderate speed. Even Motorcycles get death wobbles when going very fast and especially over bumps, something that is magnified 20-30x when on a standing scooter with a 6+ ft person and changing aerodynamics with tiny wheels. Something that not even the slow perceived speed of scooters compared to motorcycles can remedy. Not to mention that if you really wanted to you could go one hand with a steering damper set correctly whereas if you did that without one you would perish the second you stop applying a 2D stabilization force. I’ll tell you right now, it’s stable UNTIL it’s not, and that until it’s not could change within milliseconds and almost always does. You will have almost no time to react if you are going over 40mph and will just crash. I’m sorry if I’m comming off as argumentative but the 100$ is 10000% worth having an overall better experience RATHER than being hospitalized. I would even go as far as to say you are gambling a 100$ steering damper vs a 10,000$ medical bill, if you not in the US it’s equivalent and then some to a bunch of broken bones 😂

Like you my first scooter was the VSETT 10+ any yes, I had to take my time to feel it out. I also felt the need for the steering damper and it made the ride much smoother. At this time I have done 441 miles and have recently installed a set of semi off road tiers after getting a flat in the front tier. Now that was a task but I got it done. I installed my steering damper a week ago and already took it of. It just changes the feel of the scooter completely (more weight to the front, more sound wen going over bumps, less playability with the steering ect.) When you only ride on the streeds at high speeds without a different handlebar it is indeed a good purchase. But if you have a wide solid handlebar, ride off-road sometime’s and have well balanced wheels it isn’t really worth it in my opinion. I’ll probably use my steering damper from time to time when I go on a big trip but other then that I like the scooter way more without it!

  • @LetsTalkShip

Thank you for watching! I agree that it does change the steering. I was skeptical with keeping it on at first. But, I knew I eventually wanted to travel at higher speed with minimum wobble to no wobble. I’ve notice noise from the damper as well when going over bumps. I recently learned where the noise was coming from. I’m still deciding whether or not to invest in new handlebars or not. I’ve heard that longer handlebars make the stability much better.

hi Sai i would suggest that you loosen your throttle and tilt it foward till the trigger is more in line with your forearm even if it makes the display flat, do the same thing with the brake lever in a straight line with your arms, you can even move the lever sideways so the end line up in front of the finger you use and not more it will give you more control and strength,al this is for you to adapt the machine to you not the other way around, it may save you from a crash or broken wrist, hope this helps .

From my understanding it’s the best bang for you buck. Middle class hyper scooter with high speed and exceptional power with dual motors. I shopped around on KZread and came across many different scooters. For me, this was the best choice and price for me being a beginner. Now that I’m getting more comfortable with this scooter, I’ve been shopping and reviewing for my next scooter. Right now it’s between the VSETT 11+ Super and Dualtron Storm Limited. I was looking at the Bronco Xtreme 11, but they’re a new brand and have some kinks to work out with their scooter. That Bronco is a straight powerhouse though! Just keep shopping around, man. If the VSETT works for you, stick with it. If not, no problem. There are plenty of hyper scooters to choose from.

Nope I'm never putting a steering demper on my vsett10+ lol. It's still sturdy going 50mph probably maybe cause im a short guy, my theory is its probably more beneficial to have a demper on it for someone who's taller and maybe heavier. I love how this scooter keeps up with cars on the road and I like to see people's reactions as I'm riding my vsett10+ most of the time there mouths are opened it's funny. They must think like how can something so small travel at that speed faster then a moped bike. If you decide to go fast you just have to remember to hold a handlebars firmly and never try to ride it with one hand. One thing I want to point out is that front headlight lense be careful because it can fall off. Mine came off so I had to order one from Alien rides my warranty was able to cover for that lost piece. I just simply had to use this super glue with tape to mount it on the front fender hole so I can place the clear lense in it and let it dry for a couple of hours.

It's hard to get wobbles on a perfect surface in first gear. Try that in the middle of NYC and it will feel bumpier with damper or not. Most wobbles happen around 30mph too. They don't make dampers for my 30mph scooter so I use bungee cords and rubber bands to keep it center. Lolz. It works too that i can drive with 1 hand.

I won’t risk riding on wet pavement (increases chance of accident) or riding in moderate to heavy rain. Needless to say, I have seen videos of people riding their VSETT 10+ in wet conditions. It’ll max out in each gear that it’s in. On flat ground, I’ve hit 32mph max. So, I can only assume that it’s the same way for each gear, but the max increases the higher the gear. 1st through 3rd gear operate only one motor (rear motor). 4th and 5th operate both motors. 5th is turbo, which is believe you max out at 50mph. Motorcycle uses steering damper too...using steering damper has nothing to do with steering a 2 wheels "properly"...It's a proven technique. 🤣...counter steering + leaning = 200% WIN ! 👍💯+ 💯 steering damper = helps with speed wobbles counter steering = TURNING EFFECTIVELY...QUICKER RESPONSE.

@@LetsTalkShip the cramping happened to me too! I got used to it but i found and bought an adapter that turns it from finger throttle to thumb throttle and it's a lot easier! It took a few days to get from Poland and only cost $20. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKR-tNKhZbuWcdY.html Watch that video and if you think it'll help, you can order from him. I have a photo and video of me using it on my phone. Also try tilting the throttle down more so that it's almost parallel with your brakes.. you won't be able to see the screen much but it'll be easier on the hand

@@JustNel It’s unfortunate. But, I’m glad someone else understands about the hand cramps. I just watched that video. That’s pretty cool and handy. With my stock bars though, I can’t afford the space. Unless I purchase new handlebars. I’m still debating on it.

@@LetsTalkShip ah that's right. The first upgrade i made was the bars. I am supposed to receive a new foldable bar in the mail today that i got from AliExpress that's bigger than stock so I'll be able to fit it with the new one.

@@JustNel I’m gonna have to check them out. I have a feeling I’m gonna need more space soon. I also did attempt to push my finger throttle forward to make it easier. It helped a little bit. My brake stopped it from going further. The more I ride the more I adapt to it. My hand no longer hurts. I just soak it in epsom salt 🤷🏾‍♂️😂 if I do ride for an extended period of time.
