    Not sure which suspension you have, but i got a Vsett10+ 2nd hand with steering dampener and EXA 291R suspension preinstalled beside many other nice modifications/upgrades such as ALL (!!!) bolts and screws replaced with high quality ones, SKF bearings wherever the previous owner could fit them, additional (and in daylight visible!) blinkers on the handlebar etc. I can say for example those EXA dampeners/suspension are awesome and worth every penny. Easy and fast to adjust depending on the needs, eliminates correctly set up the dangerous tire wobble as well at high speeds and it feels just great at any speed. I personally drive my Vsett10+ with a stiff front setting to make it more stable at high speeds, while i have the rear very loose to give it some comfort while riding where most of the weight is. Only the reviews i have seen where they showed dangerous, jumping front tires, speed wobble without steering damper and some other issues the user has to address with his own money and time made me rethink if i should buy it brand new. Like this i would have paid already a lot for the scooter, then we talk about additionally a 200-300€ steering damper, those awesome EXA 291R suspension upgrade which is also like 250€, and the Vsett10+ would have costed me like 3000-3500€, at which point i would have just paid like 2000€ more and get myself a electric dirtbike ala Talaria or Surron. I got the 28Ah version with all those (partially "needed") upgrades for like 1500€. All i need to make sure, that the battery last me long enough to make the replacement or even upgrade (this 3rd party 35Ah version is a beast!) affordable in some years.

    Great video! From a old vsett10+ and now 11+ owner I will leave a few tips. Def. disable cruise control, it's dangerous! About electric braking I don't use it at all. When you have experience is better to use both brakes at the same time if you need to stop fast. You will need to know how to modulate the breaking. NEVER ride with a bad stance. Keep one feet in front and other in back specially in a beast like this. About the stance, you want to ride always with your hands locked but your arms relaxed, that way you won't release the grips but arms will work as shocks plus reduces wobbling. About wobbling. if you don't really need the folding handlebars , change it as soon as possible for a fixed & wider one. It's the best upgrade you can do on a vsett 10. I made almost 2000km, without steering dampers and without a single wobble after i changed the handlebar. Before the upgrade the wobbles were a constant at higher speeds. Also about loosing control of the scooter, while emergency stop braking you might loose control of the back wheel. Try to rebalance your weight to the back while braking and lower your center of gravity. If you don't , the back side will eventually swing and this is why is really important to keep a decent stance, so you won't loose balance even on a back wheel slide. also be very very very careful on gravel on normal roads as it's easy to loose contact between the wheel and the road. oh and ofc , never take your hands of your grips! if you need to scratch your ass, make a small stop and go! ahha . And last one, at least 1 mirror is very useful!

    Great points! But I have a comment about the cruise control. I actually love it. The key is to take your finger OFF the trigger once it engages. Then you can control the scooter better because you have all of your right hand on the grip. This makes braking easier too because your hand are free.

  • @LetsTalkShip

    Thank you for watching! I agree. For a new rider, it may be a bit difficult as it was for me. Now, being over 600 miles (of experience) in, I’m a lot more comfortable using cruise control If and when I do use it.

  • @harrison00xXx

    @harrison00xXx

    Ай бұрын

    For me personally, the best cruise control are properly set up gears and speed limits. For example my recent scooter before the Vsett10+ had nice steps: 1st Gear: 17-20 km/h as well reduced torque, well suited for chilling and slow rides as well for maximum range 2nd Gear: 27-31 km/h. The gear i typically use it. Full torque up to about 25 km/h and those 27-30 km/h are a sweet spot of range and "speed" in case i wanted to go for a longer trip. 3rd Gear: "maximum"... once up to 48 km/h, nowadays at best 35-39 km/h because of old and often overheated motor with 13k km on it. Since i ran too often into cruise control, i disabled it and learned to use the gears as cruise control, mostly 20 (1st) or 30 km/h (2nd) Sadly, there is absolutely no option on the Vsett scooters to lets say manually select speed limits for each gear, and the 10+ gears are more or less useless as "cruise control": 40 (1st), 50 (2nd), 60 km/h (3rd). I may also try it out on the Vsett again, especially for longer trips where i want to limit my speed to lets say anything between 25-35 km/h for saving some battery/range.

    Thank you for the video and infos! I want to share you to my experiences about wobble. My weight is 112kg. When I reach 40+ km/h with my vsett , I faced wobble. Firstly, I thought that the front suspension makes the wobble because of it is very soft. But the main problem was not the suspension . I realized that I move my center of gravity to the front place of the scooter when I start to ride because of it has very hard acceleration and keep riding like that position. So , all the mass on the front wheel and it makes wobble!! After that , I tried to replace my center of gravity to the center of the scooter. Extended my arms while holding to the handbar like I was riding a chopper motorbike. I distrubuted my mass equally on the scooter. And Voila! , wobble has gone while I was riding fast. In addition , If you face wooble , don't panic and try to brake slightly. It stops wobble.

    Little side note here.... DONT brake with the front, as said in the video as well. I only got ONCE into speed wobble, it was also at anything above 50 km/h but only as i braked with the front, not even hard, just smooth! Increased the strength of the steering dampener and it got away (i accidently set it to minimum before and forgot to set it back to position 6 out of 16 which i use mostly) speed wobble can be easily triggered by braking with the front. Thats why he said in the video begin to slow down with the rear brake, THEN bring in the front as well to stop faster. Anyways, thats how you learn to drive motorcycle as well.... rear first to bring more weight on the front, then when you have more weight, so more grip on the front you can pretty safe use the front as well with the maximum possible braking force.

    I got my Vsett a few days ago , waiting to recover from the flu so I can ride it , I was a bit intimidated when I took it out of the box , I had an i scooter I think it was 500 watts for a few months , I wanted to get some experience first , one thing for sure is you have to be ver very careful riding it on the streets of NY , I learned a lot with my first iscooter , no matter how good and a careful a rider you are there are people out there that are very very careless drivers . The only down side is that it is a bit too heavy to carry up or down the stairs ,with my previous scooter I would ride it to the train station fold it and carry it ,it saved me a lot of time . You gave some great tips though , I’ve watched as many videos as possible on this scooter and learned a whole lot . Gracias 👍🏻

    Zero start is a must have. The first time i had it, i didnt wanted to look back again. Yes, you have to learn... this throttle with zero start, especially on those performance scooters, can become a "weapon". I accidently nearly smashed a glass element of a door once when my jacket catched on the throttle, pressed it not even fully, yet the scooter catapulted itself into the already slightly opened door and opened it for me entirely. Luckily just some scratches on the frame of the door and nothing except a slightly damaged paintjob on the handlebars end. Sadly my 2nd and spare scooter doenst have zero start at all, as well is fked up and i think cant even deliver its advertised 1000W anymore, also it was going once 45-48 km/h, now it does 35-39 km/h, 40+ only downhill anymore. New battery made it slightly faster again, but i think those permanent magnets in the rotor are done after heavy usage and abusing it for nearly 13.000 km within 5 years. The last 2 years my goal was to "bash" this scooter, literally intentionally destroying it, as people do it with RC vehicles, but somehow this scooter survived everything so i just keep it in case the Vsett breaks down.

    @harrison00xXX yeah man the triggers can certainly be “a weapon” haha. I’ve had mine jump in the air waiting at a red light before. I currently use the horizontal throttle on my wolf and I like the dead spot on the throttle. It doesn’t activate until the throttle is even, so prevents whiskey throttle. However, I just received Kaabo’s new V1 nfc display which will solve some issues like a much more accurate battery bar, levels of Eva etc, but of course it’s their new trigger for the GTR for the throttle….. hoping they release a thumb version lol.

  • @LetsTalkShip

    @LetsTalkShip

    Thank you for watching! It depends on several things. Hills, speed, gear, and mode. My longest trip was a little over 40 miles on a full charge with the 25.6Ah battery.

    @@LetsTalkShip How fast you could go at this longest trip with over 40 miles? My experience with the Vsett10+ and 28Ah version is... i better not go beyond 40 km/h continous, otherwise my range reduces to like 25-30 km. But to be honest, to only come 25 km, i have to give it nearly all the time full throttle for continous 60-70 km/h and accelerate like a maniac and do a lot of braking with the disc brakes (e-brake entirely deactivated). Additionally, i force the controller to throttle itself multiple times and then at last, shut itself off entirely to cool down a bit. Definitely not made to withstand this heavy, continous stress, the controller for sure! When i go for a longer trip, i typically set up the P settings to limit the maximum power. 57/100 in the power settings give me then about 25-28 km/h top speed with somewhat useable amount of torque/acceleration, at which i can travel about 55-75 km depending on hills, my needs for joy (aka how aggressive i accelerate and take uphill passages,...), temperature etc. As much i like the Vsett10+, what i absolutely dislike is the continous performance it can deliver. A friend got a similar priced (but brand new!!!) performance scooter with 60V 40Ah battery. Its a chinese scooter brand, and so it has weak, mechanical disc brakes, abysmal headlight, missing blinkers, all in all a very outdated and "low quality" scooter, but somehow at least robust and stable enough to handle 80-110 km/h somehow while feeling "safe" on it. This Scooter, 2x5000W advertised, and its not a lie, its about 2-3x as strong as my Vsett10+ doesnt overheat at all when going continous 60 km/h+, its range is barely reduced or at least i would not even have to will to drive that fast for that long, no matter if it goes now 120 km or 80 km, both is enough. While my Vsett, as said, absolutely dont like high, continous speeds and it drains the battery within 30-40 minutes if i want to. And then i even end up with a multiple times overheated controller and a pretty warm battery pack. Luckily, im fine with the Vsett, i dont drive typically those long trips and take the car instead, so the smaller and lighter Vsett which feels great and comfortable as fk beside being very nimble fits my "shorter" range rides anyways better, in fact the 10+ is already STRONG ENOUGH, no need to go for 2-3x the performance in battery and power at the cost of ANYTHING else (this big chinese scooter with seat has terrible suspension, terrible brakes, terrible and missing lights, looks terrible/cheap,...)

    @@LetsTalkShip The thing is, i can barely compare my range results with yours, too much uphill/downhill in my area including many bike paths, also i am either "naked" and just me and my clothes, or sometimes i have a backpack with 10kg of already compact/light camera equipment for wildlife and some other stuff. Sometimes even the tripod is mounted on the stem of the scooter, adding some drag and additionally 3-4 kg. Luckily, what i found out - if i carry additional 10-15 kg doesnt matter very much, which makes sense, 140 kg vs 155 kg in the worst case, thats "just" 10% difference in weight - the biggest influence on range still comes from (continous) high speed and unnecessary acceleration and going uphill like a maniac. Somehow i dont like the Vsett - battery is still "too small", Scooters with >2,5 kWh batteries especially 72V systems come noticeable further and can endure longer stress periods a lot better, on the other hand teh Vsett10+ is overkill anyways, and this 40-75 km/h range is more to impress others and have fun than for daily commuting where the Vsett is barely stressed.
