When the ABS light goes off after turning the ignition to the ON position, do I push and hold the TCS button? Or do I push and release it? Also, can I reset all codes with the ignition in the ON position? Or does the engine have to be running? Thank you for a great video!

Push and release the TCS button Yes you can reset the codes with the ignition ON position but the engine doesn't have to be running

@@rafatorres1420rt - Thank you so much! I watched another video after yours (because this reset procedure is scary), and the guy jumped pin 4 and 9 while using the brake pedal to reset the ABS. But for the VSA/TCS reset, he removed pin #4 and grounded pin #9 to the frame, and then did your procedure with the TCS button. Any clarification as to the two procedures? Thanks in advance again!

@@dannymcneal if you don't have a scanner tool shorten pin 4 and 9 is what the scanner do , in this case you do it manually, idk if make sense

@@rafatorres1420rt - Thank you for the tutorial, but your process did not work on my 2004 Honda Accord. And I followed it to a T, twice. But Gerard Burke’s two-step process did work. The first step involves the actual brake pedals instead of the TCS button-to reset the ABS. And the second phase removes the paper clip from pin #4 and grounds pin #9 to the frame, and then uses your process. Bottom line is that there is now no TCS or triangle on my dash, and no codes showed during the subsequent scan on my OBDII. Thanks again!

Hi Guys, I tried the procedure on my 2006 Accord Euro, but it didn't work. I was very careful, level surface etc. tried several times, made sure correct pins etc. On the first stage with the ABS reset , the ABS light would come on and then go out, I would take my foot of the brake pedal and wait for the ABS light to come back on again - but it wouldn't ?? If I went ahead anyway and followed all the steps, the VSA reset wouldn't work, with the VSA triangle still on at the end. The history was I had a recurrent P2138 code coming up, which resolved when I had the accelerator pedal position sensor replaced. However, a week before it was replaced, when I took into a workshop for diagnosis, the mechanic was searching under the dash for the sensor, which was located in the engine bay ! I don't know what he did under the dash, or elsewhere, but the VSA triangle appeared as soon as I drove it out. When I drove it in there, there were no warning lights at all, which would normally all disappear after a few drive cycles. However as soon as I turned the ignition on, the VSA triangle came on and remained on since, with the VSA warning light also coming on after a short drive. After they replaced the pedal sensor, which resolved that problem, they cleared the codes, but the VSA triangle would came back on. They threw up an 84-1 code, though there was no ABS warning light, and said I would need to replace the ABS ECU, with the 84-1 code indicating a faulty brake pressure sensor. I don't believe this, as the VSA triangle only came on and stayed on, since the car was checked in the workshop. It was fine before that, with the triangle going out like it was supposed to, even with the P2138 issue. I think it is a computer glitch, and the ABS ECU needs some kind of reset. However when I try this, the ABS light doesn't come on a second time like it's supposed to, as I explained above ? Do I need to clear the 84-1 first before trying the reset ? Has anyone here had this issue ? Thanks heaps, they told me a new ABS ECU would probably cost as much as the car. Gedas.

Park position, make sure you double check the process, if that doesn't work, you car might need to be reset by scanner tool, this is a processs for 2005 Honda Accord hybrid but it worked for others models on Honda and Acura. Good luck 🤞

1) Jump pins 4 and 9. 2) Press and hold the brake pedal and switch on the ignition. 3) Wait for the ABS light to turn off and then remove your foot from the brake pedal. 4) Wait for the ABS light to turn on, then press and hold the brake pedal again. 5) ABS light should turn off, then remove your foot from the brake pedal. 6) Wait for two flashes of ABS light. If it flashes it means that errors are erased. Check the errors (with the pins jumped) - just turn the ignition on, if ABS light does not flash, no errors are in memory. Now the main part. VSA neutral position setting Do not touch the brake pedal anymore. 1) Jump pin 9 to chassis ground (I have used a bolt on a door hinge). 2) Turn the ignition on, after ABS light turns off, quickly press the "VSA off" button. 3) After ABS light turns on again, quickly press the "VSA off" button. 4) Now shoud be a lot of different blinks and fashes and all lights ABS, VSA and triangle should turn off. The problem's solved. 5) Open the beer bottle!

Didn't work for me in my 03 MDX either. I also tried the full procedure that was listed as a reply to this comment. No luck. When I try, the ABS light doesn't ever come on a second time.

I did all the steps , but after the second push my abs keeps blinking ?

Make sure you got a good charge battery and jump pin 4 and 9 on the obd

Mine is a 6 speed it’s not hybrid. My battery light flashes also and I noticed in the video it doesn’t.

@@danielmihai4 the hybrid version is a V6 as well , so the procedure should be the same . Regarding the battery you might need to check the 12v batteries and the alternator as well

Rafa my batteries is solid. I cleared all the other codes and that’s the last one. For some reason mine won’t reset when I do the 4 pin and 9 pin it just keeps blinking the abs with check engine.
