Sad fact: this was technically made by Divide (Some people call him divine) and he was a modder/dev for sonic.exe. but one day, he died in his sleep from cancer. Apparently though, someone saw his sketch of this alternate boyfriend character and made a whole mod about it. While the lyrics do reference girlfriend, it also references Divide and how if divide was alive right now, he would be proud. And the stay awake part references how divide died in his sleep, saying for him to just stay awake to see what he had created Edit: I agree with some of y'all, cancer seems to be like that one incurable plague that takes the best people away. First technoblade, then lynja, and even divide. There's many more that died from cancer too. Edit 2: as requested from @N0oBzy I will also add edd Gould, creator of eddsworld. He probably wanted to continue eddsworld, but he died from cancer 8 years after it started. Luckily, eddsworld lived on and continued being created. Edit 3: it's also came to my attention that the face of doge, kabuso, has also died. Leukemia was the main reason while some people speculate it was also due to cancer.

In my opinion, the creators of FNF should take this song and put it in the original, perhaps before the last "fight" against whoever the final boss is (in my opinion, the monster should be the possible final villain) as a warning to BF who still has hope of saving his loved one from a tragic end

It's both about his creator and his GF, for sure. People seem to want it to be one or the other, but it's 100% both. In the canon, he's singing for GF, wanting recognition for his talent from the one person he can't hear it from anymore. In a meta sense, the entire song is a tribute to Divide/Divine and their creations, memorializing them, and Yourself is singing about how he hopes his creator is proud of how far he has come

Be interpreted as the yourself singing about the loss of his girlfriend and how much he wants to show how far he as come B. Be interpreted as yourself talking to his creator to see his creation finally come to life and be proud of him Most tributes don’t fit into the lore narratively but this one manages to both show his want to put on a show for his girlfriend one last time as well as showing the creator that he is now brought to life and to be proud of him. I haven't been watch Friday Night Funkin in a long time, but then I heard this song just blowing up like crazy so I went to check it out. I didn't really understand it at first and just thought it was one of those most bopping fnf mod songs, but after I heard the meaning and backstory, I was about to cry. This is a very impressive and deep mod. What makes it nore sadder is that you can see Gf (herself) for a split second, and you could hear her voice when Silly Billy (or yourself) when he says, "Long enough." This is one of the most best and wholesomest mods made. ❤❤❤
