Yeah this game have a lot of menus but when you try and learn them they can be so usefull . I'm a dancer on VR chat dance club and the radial menu help me a lot on my dance .

Tweaking settings to get that butter smooth performance or pushing hardware limits is all part of the fun. Fortunately new users don't need everything immediately to get going.

@@casualamber Regardless I need some advanced options for camera. Those options can still be hidden under advanced menu. It doesn't mean it has to be crowded in the menu.
I have 3 friends who just got VR this week, what perfect timing lol
I didn't even plan on downloading VRChat until I saw this video recommended to me. So rare to see a tutorial on anything that's as informative, engaging, and well put together as this one! Well done, and you've convinced me!

Earmufs are useful especially when you go on Rave event with 40 to 70 people on it for me that allow me to hear the music clearly without hearing everyone talk around me
This is so detailed and the effort put into this Video is insane!
I recently started playing VRChat and it has me hooked already - I'm just a week in! Thanks for the updated guide - will definitely be sharing this with my friends and referring back to it myself!
VRChat beginners guide: Quit while you can
I've been on vrchat for about a week now. This video really helped to fill in some of the blanks I have trying to learn it on my own. Thanks
I don't consider myself as a newbie, but i still love seeing these types of videos. I've put around 200 hours on Vrchat and i'm already at the Known User rank. I was a desktop user for around a month until i got a quest 2, now i only play it on PCVR. Good part of my time in VRC has been joining conversations, playing some games in it, messing around with my avi and helping new people to have an enjoyable time as well. Even though it's not flawless, the community is awesome and i've been having a blast with this game. Also i do understand why people put more than 2k hours in it.

I'm sure you've helped thousands of newcomers, I'm glad you update the beginners guides
Thank you! 👏👏👏This is great. I've been using VR chat for a couple of weeks now (adult Questie - not ideal). If it weren't for your videos, I might have given up on it. But now I'm all in, I trust that eventually I'll find cool ppl to talk to, and I look forward to the day when I can afford an awesome set up (FBT included).

Thank you! These vids were super helpful for myself and now I send them to new users 😎
WOOHOOO! NEW VIDEO :DDDD PEFECT TIMING FOR MY NEW FRIEND WHO JUST STARTED
Clear and straight to the point. Good job PHIA. It's so fascinating to witness the evolution of VRChat, I started back to December 2017/January 2018. SO many memories.
Thanks for updating the Guide! I always send this to New Users. I wish you could see other users menus in-game to help them. (by default, obviously want to hide sometimes)
I look forward to your videos! I know nothing from when i played 2 years ago and now which alot of stuff has changed. This video helped out!
Ah, I was hoping there might be an update eventually. Thank you very much! I can continue to direct newbies here for such a detailed explanation!
Always felt like there wasn't really a proper way to explain to people how much VRChat actually is or can be, this is gonna be my response to them from now then. Ty for this!
Thank you :D I just started playing today and it was confusing but fun, I randomly found a Tesco server and Rainy Day bus ride is incredible, then I'm glad I found this video now, exactly what and when I needed!
Absolutely amazing and well thought out guide phia!
Perfect timing, I just ordered my index I can’t wait to use it
Wow I just really love your content it’s what got me into VR
the last section is very helpful, thanks for including it
I love watching your videos. I can’t wait to get my laptop back from the shop so I can play VR chat again. I know it’s only desk VR but I love VR chat so much.😊
Very good update video :D I was thinking of doing an update to Horizon Adjust / Avatar Culling / Earmuff settings since I literally hear the questions asked every day :P
Very thorough and helpful!
Perfect timing. Played VR Chat in VR for the first time this week, lol.
Even though I already know my way round VRChat, this guide was still fun to watch and gave a nice refreshing reminder! 😆💙👍🏻

Indeed, I learnt that ear muff mode is not about keeping my ears warm.
This is definitely one to save and share, well done.
Thank you for this very timely video! I've been thinking about coming back to VRC after a long break.
I binge watched almost all of your videos and finally got a quest 2 now that it's relatively "cheaper". If you go into Prismic's avatar search, start an invite only instance, get your avatar and then screw around with the settings Phia suggested. My first time on VRchat I didn't play with the settings at all, went into Prismic's avatar search on a decent gaming PC through SteamVR and still, it was too overwhelming. Dip your toe into vrchat on invite only instances and then work on your vr legs. Eagle top avalanche rush world rules!
Me getting vrchat 2 days ago.... YES!!! THANK YOU
Been in VR for a while, but still manage to pick up tips from your handy guides ^_^
Someone said I was in this video, and I was just like "huh? how?" Now I see, lol! But great to see you made a new beginner's guide! It's definitely needed with so many new menus to consider.
Ayy thanks for the guide. I did not know about the earmuff mode. Will definitely check it out!!
Planning on playing in a few months, always funny how the algorithm can feed me videos like this right before i need them.
Thanks Phil, you rock!
New to this , also. You're so perfect for demonstrating this tech. Thanks for your help.
Yay Phia is also back!.
this was so usefull thank you, just got into vr chat and aaaa never found it so hard to talk to other peeps online before
Really appreciate the updated guide. With the drop in price for Quest 2, I think I'll finally get a chance to check out PCVR this year!
Thanks for this guide! Ive been in pcvr for a while, but always felt vrc was a little too cliquey and confusing for me, but know how to try again now!

This is so helpful. VRchat should put this vid in the default home world
I ironically watched your first guide a long time ago as I was prepping myself with having just gotten VR and such. Now that I'm actually getting an Avatar custom made I am here again as I never took a step into VRchat yet, heh.
Just forwarded to my polycule to set up a group date ❤
Nice job Phia Such a good guide. Love that you coalbed with IDA recently. 2 Amazing communities.
Thank God for this, got a vr for pc and was confused by a million menus. Holler if you wanna play together!
Finally, been waiting for a vid like this so I can finally figure out what the whole deal is. Now to watch, I'll update this post afterwards.

Whelp, learned some things about some settings, but the main deal of finding avatars, worlds, and events to get started with is still missing... I've tried looking for avatar worlds and can't really find anything that suits as an identity I can be comfortable in and I've hardly been able to find any worlds that I'd want to spend any time in. Nearly every world seems to be static with nothing to do in them, and "rave clubs" and such aren't my scene. I want to socialize while doing something, just like in RL, not randomly crashing conversations like a crazy person.
Tysm ❤for the help i hav a VR now but 1yr ago i wes saying VR is not That good now i love VR tysm for the help❤
I just got back into the platform after months of school college and other game phases, this’ll probably really help me understand the new mechanics of its ui and stuff, just a shame I have such basic equipment (I’m working with a oculus quest 2, with its default controllers and I’ve got a custom head strap that stops me from getting a concussion after wearing it for more than half an hour)
Love the new look, phia
This should play on yhe default vrc home load in. Great vid !
perfect timing
i dont think i plan to play vrchat anytime soon, but this is definitely helpful if you’re just beginning!
11:50 pro tip, avatar culling can also be found in the quick menu, close to the bottom of the settings tab.
16:56 Hey! Thats me!
You know it’s a great day when Phia uploads
literally decided i wanted to get into this game yesterday lol
As a newbie this helped a lot.
I love the fact that since they "blocked" mods, they are slowly adding all of the most used functionality that was added from mods earlier
Thank you for your service ❤❤❤
Tysm! I didn’t know what earmuff did lol
niceeee \o/
Weird KZread Recommended but This is Great, I’ve played vrchat before but haven’t really Haven’t Played it much Since I got it when it first came out👌
found your channel recently, great videos. im more interested in the tech of the works like the trackers
This should be a tutorial when you play for the 1st time. I have 30 hours so I'm not an expert but also not a total beginner - and I still got a bunch of good tips here. Thanks!
Omg been 5 month ive seen a video from you. 🎉🎉🎉
Yup, perfectly timed upload for me

very good video
Instructions unclear, accidentally crashed my whole VRChat world.
I'm just impressed at how many comments this video already has when it's been up for less than 10 minutes.
I've been looking at making content for this
Wake up, babe! New Virtual Reality Show just dropped. It’s PHIA!
cool guide for people
Your videos are what really got me into VRChat. I did try making my own Avatars in Vroid and Blender (before realizing I was just better off buying a Dotti lol). I'm not a full-body hottie, VR socialite and self-confessed VR trash (or as I like to call myself, "eWaste" lol
I love VR Chat, I don't go into it nearly enough. I've got to change that.
watching this even tho ive been playing for years
Amazing video as always :3 And I hate to be that person, but what’s the world in the Safety Settings chapter?
Welcome to VR chat: to start out just open your menu... not that menu... not that menu... wait so dont quick click that button you have to long click it... Love VRChat UI. You probably know but I just learned this... with friends+ portals and above you can hit the little lock button on the spawn portal menu and it will make it so only friends+ or whoever can enter.
I loved this video. I haven't been using my headset as much as I would like since owning them for about 8 years but this might give me the push to at least have something to do/hangout in when just chilling. Does anyone have any microphone suggestions or is the Quest 2 mic good enough?
The timing is great considering that the price has dropped to $200 just about everywhere now. I started about a month ago and I found this useful still :)
Me everytime before you mentioned something in this video:"Alright, she mentioned what I wanted to add in the comments, but
TL:DR id you start with anything but recommended default settings turned down or off, then experiment opening the taps to let the VRChat goodness flow. Just as an example (not as a flex), I use Quest2 wirelessly connected to a PC via Virtual Desktop with a 16Gb 4060Ti and 32Gb RAM and can just about run with all taps open... a full 60 capacity venue rendering 30 avies max at max draw distance with all bells and whistles commands between 25-35fps, although stuttering below 15fps still occurs where many Very Poor avatars in the room. Your device specification and performance will vary which is why it is useful to really get to know and hug your settings. Android [phone] users might like to know that any Android 10 OS with 6Gb device RAM (and a fully charged battery) will get your touch screens in the game, but for best affordable experience for VR newbies, have to say Quest 2 gets your virtual foot in the portal. And then once you're hooked and get reeled in, get ready for some mindblowing visuals.
Love Group public worlds allot more than Public. Especially when in something like Terrors of nowhere and that 1 screaming avatar appears, it's so much easier to get rid of them.
The avatar shown in the seconds 00:12 - 00:14 is actually privated atm, the creator is having problems with re uploading and potential asset misuse
Just got me a quest 2, and i was wondering which would be better over all virtual desktop or a link cable
Jesus Christ. THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THIS
Phia what headset do you use? I'm asking because if I ever get the money I would like to upgrade from my quest 2
What about just moving around in VR chat? My quest controllers don't have batteries right now and i saw that there is locomotion via hand tracking. Can't seem to find any video going over how to use it.
New video drop!
Hey there! Nice update video. Just bought Meta Quest 3 VR for our daughter. How hard is it to sideload a 3rd party (they say 'Quest compatible') custom avatar, if she is a VRChat novice and after becoming a trusted member eventually? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙏🏼✨
lmao the "2 hour" edition. I've just started my journey
How do you move the big menu? I've been trying to do that and it either just stays there or messes up by staying at an angle.
Oooo. ChilloutVR is reworking the entirety of the UI/UX this year along with the website. After Devs are done, would you be willing to make a guide for that too?
