Sadly Jeff Spira passed away about 7 months after posting this video. Heartbreaking thinking of the great wealth of knowledge on boatbuilding and sailing history that left with him. He was a master boat builder and an inspiration for the boat building community. Sail well sir, you are missed.

what delusion and purposeful ignorance. It’s impressive. But, Africans has given modern man Nothing. That’s why you are lying about easily understood topics like sailing. Even complete simpletons know you can’t go across a huge ocean without seafaring boats. Mali has NEVER produced boats capable of anything but hugging the coast as they did NOT have the technology. If you want to make up stories so you don’t feel like a loser maybe try finding a topic where you don’t look as crazy as the Black Hebrew cult that thinks they are actually Jewish and the real Jews aren’t Jewish, aka completely delusional. You have no idea how much you make Africa look even more backwards than they already do. Just be grateful for the phone in your hand which was provided to you by the wests technological superiority. everything from the internet to discovering electricity, down to the gps and apple or google operating system on your phone, ALL are American inventions, even using English to write here in KZread. This domination applies to every field of science and industry with a few going to a few continental European scientists, mostly Germany but some British discoveries also. Africa provides nothing and is why black africans enslaved themselves to sell to the arabs and later Europeans that had to build a port in their country just to be able to trade but Arabs been using sub Sahara slave routes since recorded history. The Egyptian Pharaohs even painted black Africans with chains around their necks in murals to boast of their domination and enslavement of the black Africans, which make aftocentric revisionist attempts at stealing Egyptian culture laughable. It’s almost like ancient Egyptians knew blacks very well and knew they would try stealing their history, so they made sure the color in the hieroglyphics and murals was reflective of real life and deliberately distinguished between the Mediterranean looking Egyptian people with a light sand color and made the black Africans with short nappy hair and used dark black for the skin. Of course this doesn’t stop people from making up history, maybe I would too if I was obsessed with skin color like the current with blacks these days. Personally I would distance myself, maybe pretend I was Arab? Sub sharan Africa was poor before contact with the outside world and was a little less poor when they left and has provided little to nothing to modern civilization. Even when you deceptively steal the Mediterranean people’s culture like when blacks try stealing Egyptian culture, fyi Egyptians despise blacks and treat their small minority very poorly, I’ve witnessed this while in Egypt, but even when you steal other cultures to pretend sub Sahara Africa was an advanced society it FAILS because regardless of what you and your Afrocentric supremacist lie about people have theses things called eyes, they can see Egyptians, morrocons, Libyans are descended from phonecians and other Mediterranean people since they can pass as Greek or Italian often, they definitely are not black as anyone with eyes and functioning brain can surmise. You justify every stereotype of blacks as less intelligent and easily fooled by pushing revisionist history that has NO evidence. Again, mali still does not have the naval capability to build ocean fairing boats. So much ignorance has to take place for someone to believe a Bronze Age civilization that was ILLITERATE, that means they can’t read or write, was able to magically create thousands of needed industries and innovations to support a REAL naval industry and then major expeditions, NONE of which survived or was written about by visitors. No archeological remains of a naval port, no boats bigger than fishing boats ever recovered, or the millions of other things that would be there if it was even REMOTELY true. But great job at making you and your people look very very smart.

there is absolutely zero genetic proof of africans mixing with native americans and there would be A LOT of genetic proof if any of the speculation columbus made about darker native americans was real. just because its fashionable in far left progressive circles and feeds the african supremacist ideology does NOT make it legit. just like the 1619 project being laughed at by all historians not ideologically brainwashed, mansa musa's "discovery" of the americas is ridiculous to anyone with a brain. in addition to the non existent genetic proof there would also be hundreds if not thousands of irrefutable archaeological artifacts that would be in place FIRST just to show it as being possible, which Malis naval history does not support, you have to have the naval technology to sail across oceans first. even a layman can look at european style ocean going ships of the time to Malis most advanced boats not only of the same time but even many hundreds of years after and you immediately realize that Mansa Musa discovering america is as problematic as making Cleopatra II a dark skinned nubian instead of a mostly Greek origin. it's no problem if you care nothing about facts and truth which also happens to be the target audience for those attracted to pseudo sciences like Critical Race Theory where all info is distorted to deceive yourself into a hyper delusional and racist world view in the name of a corrupted definition of equity. Do better. identity politics are as toxic as its primary politicians. racial supremacist world views like arab supremacists, asian style supremacist or black and white supremacists, are all equally evil. no body stole secret african technology. most of southern africa was barely able to get out of the bronze age and illiterate with even the wheel being absent in much of nubian africa. even to this day most of the archealogical evidence being "discovered" by color obsessed supremacist and far left ideologues are all coming from american and european university departments going to africa themselves and doing the tedious work of archeology and preservation. maybe instead of trying to invent or distort history to feed ones racial egos, how about inventing something useful to civilization? this would surely do more to counter the negative views the world has about than just lying about history.

LMAO, Mali didn't even have ocean worthy boats 500 years after the supposed fantasy discovery! Mansa would of sailed to Mecca if he had boats capable of this. i won't mention that no one has to leave out africa history since most of africa was ILLITERATE and couldn't write down it's own history, so how those evil european boogey men steal africa history? seems like africa needs to be grateful they were even mentioned periodically by more advanced civilizations.

Thanks for the great info. Got into a debate in a comments section over weather Africans could have sailed to America. I said its possible purely on my own polynesian peoples ability to sail and navigate the Pacific, making contact with the Natives of Alaska & the Americas, then why not the Africans from their side. This guys arguement was its impossible coz West Africans didnt have boats. Thats not even logical; every ancient coastal people on the planet had boats, except the West Africans? Now i know he was just ignorant.

I think it was Sumahoro Kante who was the "magician" whom you are referring to. He is also known as the Blacksmith King. Sunjata Keita took over from him. Thank you for bringing these facts to a wider audience. Mansa Musa himself did not survive his trip to Mecca. He was killed soon after coming back. His mom was of royal extraction. His dad was not. Today, Manding griots would only reluctantly acknowledge the existence of this king.

If he did or even had boats that were good enough to travel the coast, there’s only evidence of fishing boats, but Mansa would of took these boats to Mecca instead of going by camel through brutal dessert. I thought it was odd because then in America Christianity was the predominant religion I hear people spoke about or was. This is why I looked it up, because at the time he told I was in high school. Now 15 plus years later listening with a different mind it did not make sense from what I was taught in school.

you should read the part of the Quran where Mohemmed would only sell 3 african slaves for one arab slave because they were worth 1/3 of what an arab slave was worth. Mohammed also has a very clear description of what Satan looks like, which he described as "an Ethiopian raisin head", the quran mention time after time how "white" the prophet of islam was. it's hilarious seeing black muslims, especially after traveling in the middle east, knowing how most arabs dislike africans.

Granada, Spain, the granary, wsr the last to fall when the Moors and Jews were expelled, just before Columbus sailed (after waiting 7 years for financing). There is evidence of carved petrolyphs there of maize cobs predating Columbus. AFAIK maize was not yet cultivated in Europe, so it sure looks to me like the Americans simply neglect to tell visitors, maize cannot self-propagate - it needs human intervention. In other words maize is a human invention. So I wonder if they also neglected to tell visitors of the need for careful cooking and preparation of various tubers and gourds, or else!

But what most haven't realized is that North America is Northwest Africa 🤔 The Americas , North , Central , and South America were once connected to Africa before the Great Earthquake which caused the Great Atlantic Ocean to split the Americas from Africa . 🤔 All of the Americas were Islamic countries . Christopher Columbus wrote in his journal that he seen a Mosque on the hill in Cuba 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Moors were already here in the Americas . If you remove the Atlantic Ocean and pull the two continents together , you will notice that the United states is lined up with Morocco , greater Morocco AL -Magibrib whivh is part of Northwestern Morocco also includes North America which is actually Northwest Africa 🤔🤔🤔 This also included Mexico and Canada 🤔 Moors had the largest Empire in the world . From Libya all yhe way across the Great Atlantic Ocean into the Americas was called AL-Magibrib ( Moorish territory ) The Magibrib also mean [ Westerners ] West of Kemet ( Egypt )🤔🤔🤔

All of the videos about the Mali expeditions to the New World always say that the fleet carried enough food and water (and gold, artisans, poets, etc.) to last for years. I have to call bu!!shit on that. These small galleys carried food enough for years even with fishing to supplement the rations? I doubt it. That's doubly so for water. I base this on the fact that galleys are labor intensive while the sailing ships of Columbus require less crew members and labor per mile. Don't get me started on the loss of rowers due to death and illness over the weeks and months at sea. Yes, I know that they had a sail that worked as long as the wind was at their backs. The reason that Columbus' voyage was successful was because navigation methods had advanced and his ship could also sail into the wind. Tha Mali thing is interesting but there seems to be a lot of holes in the theory. Don't get me wrong. Some limited contact may have happened but I doubt that the regular trade that the Africa first group allege really happened.

Theres the tradewinds that will take u from Africa to the Carribean with little effort. Im not familiar what the west African boats were like, but they had 1000 boats, pretty sure u could fit a years food on that. Labour intensive? I would think loyal subjects of a kingdom arent afraid of hard work. The main thing is the Elder Mansa was investigating if the old stories were true because he heard they traded with this land but by his time it was just a story. We'll never know if he made it coz he never returned, but maybe one day theyll discover some evidence thatll rewrite history.

Yeah so why did Columbus need black africans to navigate the atlantic ocean for him? lol Basically you don't believe they could have done this because they are black. You won't say it because you'd rather be a coward and use doublespeak by "just asking questions" or "poking holes in the theory". But if they were white, you wouldn't have any barriers to just believe it

Thank you for being one of the few intelligent commenters. Mali's naval technology, even 400 years after the preposed date, wasn't even close to being ocean worthy. there would also be easily traced genetic proof if there was any racial mixing from then and there isn't. any layman can look at the boats Mali had then and then look at a european ship used for ocean crossings and tell this is another black washing of history. it's comical at this point.

@@alansokelisatruehero8520 I have one last point to make. If there was an actual trade route from Mali to the Americas and even semi regular trade... the Native Americans would have been exposed to mumps, measles, small pox, etc. We would not have seen the mass die offs and infections from the Spanish exploration because it would have already happened.
