Voyager's 45th Anniversary with Ann Druyan, Creative Director of NASA Voyager Interstellar Message
Ғылым және технология
Voyager 2 launched on August 20, 1977, from Cape Canaveral, Florida aboard a Titan-Centaur rocket. On September 5, Voyager 1 launched, also from Cape Canaveral aboard a Titan-Centaur rocket.
On board each craft was a golden record that included, among other things, the brain waves of love recorded during an EEG of Ann Druyan, a mother's first words to her newborn child, music from all over the world, and greetings in 59 different languages
Between them, Voyager 1 and 2 explored all the giant planets of our outer solar system, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune; 48 of their moons; and the unique system of rings and magnetic fields those planets possess.
In 2012, Voyager 1 made history when it became the first spacecraft to enter interstellar space. Voyager 2 followed suit in December 2018. The two spacecraft are the farthest human-built objects in space and NASA's longest-running space missions in history.

The two of you and all others involved made history ! Remembering Dr Sagan 🙏🏼
Hi, Ann! I just wanted to say thank you for being one of the big and main parts of the Cosmos series. When I turned 8 I got a book about Astronomy from someone in my family, which started my journey of scientific discovery and education. Perhaps I only got it because some educated person in my family heard me talking about "what are the stars". When I was about 9 years old I learned that one can actually be an Astronomer for a living. All I wanted to be back then was an Astronomer. When I was 9 I also found out about the Cosmos series because my dad had told me about it. I finished the whole season, hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, within a week, and was struck with awe. When I turned 11 I then got my first telescope which was one of the best moments in my life: Finally I could observe the night sky in some serious manner (it was actually a Newtonian telescope). So that's what I want to thank you so much for: Educating and motivating millions of young people to go into a scientific field and to be the universe trying to understand itself. "Starstuff contemplating the stars". The universe as it really is, is all I need. No religious zealotry and no other "magic" needed. I am now 17 and super enthusiastic about maths, physics, engineering and of course: Astronomy. Thank you so much Ann and that also goes out to all the other members of the Cosmos series. Per Aspera, Ad Astra!
Thank you Ann. I too wish the genius of our scientists and engineers was celebrated.
Amazing that they are both sending signals.
“For small creatures such as we, the vastness is only bearable through love” i know Mr X is watching over us and smiling at our awakening.
Very few of the billions and billions of people on earth share the knowledge and views of the people who worked on Voyager. What a world we could have made if it had been many, many more.

so many thanks for everything, Ann
Thank you, for your inspired message Ann! You're joy, hope, eminates through your words...gave me goosebumps, made my eyes well up, brought a smile to my day.
Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for science 😊😊
A belated happy anniversary to all the Sagan/Druyan/DrakeVoyagers 1&11 family ❤
Ann, thank you for your beautiful and powerful message ❤
The joy and honor is ours, listening to you. Thanks a lot to you two for touching our lives with the magic of science . My endless love to Carl and you, Mrs Eleanor Ann Arroway .. ; )
“...can speak for itself...” Beautiful. So glad I stumbled onto this. I need heroes and I need leaders to enrich and lend purpose to life...my life. You, Carl, and all the work around you have sustained me all these years. Innumerable thanks.
Thank you!
What a delight. Thank you for sharing this folks.
Hard to believe that Voyager could still be traveling in 5 billion years.
Go! Voyager, go!
Carl sagan lives forever in my mind too.
Perhaps someday our descendants will venture farther out into the Cosmos, and perhaps send emissaries of ourselves farther still. But none, I think, will go farther, or be older, than Voyager. Thank you all for the head start. 💫✨
Fantastic I am a new subscriber. Impressive channel.
Good job
Something much bigger will cast its shadow on voyager and then and only then will we finally understand the forth dimension.
Happy 45th out of infinity
Wiki: "In the late 1970s, Druyan became the Creative Director of NASA's Voyager Interstellar Message Project.[2] As creative director, Druyan worked with a team to design a complex message, including music and images, for possible alien civilizations. These golden phonograph records affixed to the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecraft are now beyond the outermost planets of the solar system, and Voyager 1 has entered interstellar space. Both records have a projected shelf life of one billion years." Carl didn't just walk the talk - he married it :) Even 'nerds' can have high standards.
❤️❤️❤️
ANNIE!
It makes me feel a bit better knowing the voyagers are out there and will be out there for so so long. Long after we are gone which is looking to be rather soon. Thank you Carl. The only thing I wish was different is that the women on the gold record had the slit of her vagina.
How do you keep your teeth so clean 👍
