I have '89 Volvo 240 GL and mine did that about 2 yrs ago. I squirt gas in the fuel hose and fires right up and then dies. It seems I'm not getting power the fuel injectors so I'm gonna try to replace the Pink Label ECU I have for a White Label 951 ECU. I just never got tired of trying figure out why it wasn't starting and putting more money into it. So i think i'll pick it up again

check the connections, mine was kinda touchy. there was a connector going to an ecu or something near the fuel pump relay that would cause the car to not start if it even slightly moved positon. i actually fixed it with a zip tie
