Omg please please please DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES remain in your vehicle on a highway or motorway this is a dangerous situation turn your steering wheel completely to the opposite direction of the carriageway and then place yourself on the verge of the carriageway and to the rear of the vehicle. Please understand that the amount of people that are on the emergency lane and are hit by another vehicle is extremely high and I have done accident breakdowns on and of for 30 years many thanks and stay safe

Thanks for the work that you do and for the great advice. A lot of sources agree with you and so I likewise will make a correction to the video. A lot of the stuff I produce comes from advice within the dealership which is good for technical but no doubt your expertise is much more valued in that breakdown situation. I think the point I was getting at was please don’t try and repair on the Highway. Call for someone like you to help. Thanks for good advice.

I have to admit a spare is something I would love to have too. At least an option to purchase one. Not sure how that would work on XC40 since front and back tires are different.

Nice videos. Congrats. My new XC60 T8 Hybrid came with the same XC40 TPMS system. Question: May I use the compressor only to inflate the tires without using the selant ? Thks.

Yes you can, the air hose connects to both the pump or sealant. I typically just keep that pump for emergency use though just because it looks it was made to fit in a small space and be light rather than regular use.

Hi Jebbie I have a question. At 2:04 when you have the trunk divider popped up like that (dividing the trunk into two, with the bag hooks up like that...) is there no floor cover? I want to divide the trunk for groceries etc... but then am I just placing my grocery bags on top of the cables and tools that are resting in that indent in the trunk flooring?? Seems so strange to me that there is no level flooring within the trunk when the divider is up as pictured at 2:04

That is such a great idea. I really hope Volvo does come up with something like that. I did check through the accessories manual and all I could find were floor covers for the entire trunk or nets to secure luggage. Typically I fold it and put all my groceries in the back area and hang smaller bags of the front. However if I have a lot of groceries then I don't bother folding as they all hold each other in place. If there was a cargo floor, as you have said, I would order it immediately too. Thanks for a really great comment!

Are customers in the US really being told to press the SOS button in case of a punctured tyre? In Europe we tell them to use the SOS button only in case of real emergencies, and use the On Call button in case of a punctured tyre.

Yes sir, people drive a little crazy on highways in my are for sure. those drivers are required to move over a lane when you are parked with emergency lights on. They never do so. I personally don’t feel comfortable changing a tire with cars doing 70 -80 mph just a few feet away from you If you are on a quiet road with ample and safe pull off area available then sure I would fix it myself but there no way I would advise any of my family to change a tire without a bright flashing emergency parked behind on a fast highway. 1. I pay 20-30 in energy every month instead of 130. 2. Services every 20,000 miles. 3. Federal tax credit for US made cars and similar discounts for leasing foreign cars. 4. No brakes required for a long time. On the flip side tires are an increased expense which is one of the reasons for making the video. Lastly Volvo recorded a 29% increase in EV sales for the last month with 18% of all vehicles sold being EVs. While EVs only account for around 6.5% of US cars, this number is increasing fast. Although there are excess EVs available that is due to a 350% in production increases. Long story short this is buyers market for EVs. I also once was a gas car enthusiast but I encourage everyone to try a drive in an EV and see if you like it!
