Good on you, 100k miles is quite a milestone! I always cringe when people put 87 octane in their T5 Drive-E, just because Volvo says it can run on it doesn't mean they recommend it. Do you run 5w-30 oil? Am in New Zealand with a 2016 V60 T5 R-Design Drive-E, running 95 RON and 0w-20 VCC RBS0-2AE oil. 50k kms on mine, going strong so far.

Drive a '97 850 GLT na, bought from 1-owner, and I love that damn car, almost feel bulletproof driving it. Last of the Swedes, too. Engine is 5254T na , has a 9.0:1 compression ration w/output of 190 HP over the base model's 168 HP.

Hmm; I wasn’t aware that there was an AWD version of the 850.

Tanks to Volvo we enjoy the 3 points seat belt and. The safety’s records on crashes that they has been achieved one of the best companies in this world..

09 volvo 3.2 468k on it all changed was belt (twice) , thermostat, water pump, engine mount, Lose about 3/4 quart oil between every 5k mile oil change. Transmission fluid changed once. Edit. And cooling fan once. Cooling fan module twice

Volvo did make I6 engines, for many years actually, basically since 1991. They stopped making them in around 2014/2015. Along with the 5 cylinder petrol engines.

I had a 2001 S60T and loved the car but it was the biggest lemon. Among many many problems the one that convinced me never to buy a Volvo again is when the head had multiple cracks around the spark plugs, in fact one blew right out. Car was perfectly maintained, I even changed the oil between their recommendations. It had 163,000 on it and Volvo said what do I expect? Really! I said that had to be a defective casting, it’s a non moving part. I have had cars with over 300,000 miles with no issues. They would not do anything to help out, it cost me $4,300. to fix it. Never again will I buy a Volvo.

@@dimitristsavaris3005 even today I know many people with Volvos and have many many problems. On mine, it wasn't just the engine, I was on the 3rd blower fan at $400 a pop, the first was covered. Every month a light would blow out or some module would blow out. My 2008 Highlander with over 243k miles has everything original except battery and tires. Even my serpentine belt is original as well as my alternator. Try that on a Volvo.

I was thinking the same thing. My guess is they supply oil pressure to the entire engine assembly through a port before the rotate it over for the first time.

t4 s40 1998 turbo. Oil chance every 50.000 km. Drove it flatout to 265.000 km. Only a bobine left the engine with 180.000 km. It did 260 km/h for ours,on the autobahn

I keep hearing of complaints in America. Lots of vibration at 70mph on freeways. Blame being placed on suspensions and tires but dealers cannot fix the problem.

@@fredwiley3731 i recently started working at a volvo dealership and a lot of those vibration problems are due to the foam lined tires that are standard on some newer vehicles. Pirelli and Continental are the main ones i know of.

No it wasn't. It was engineered in Sweden although Porsche made some minor tweaks on the turbo T5 model of the same engine. Have a look at Wikipedia or something instead of guessing!

Thats "old Tech" They probobly shock fill the oil system with hot oil Before start. Makes it more simple to keep the Engine Clean thru production

the interval is 150k miles 10/yrs, luxury buyers dont keep them more than 5-7 yrs, and when you reach that number you get all fresh components rather than praying your chain and guides hold up

Volvo v40 I have been buying one for the last 3 years the 2017 and 18 have got to be one of the worse cars ever built the dash goes like a Xmas tree when u hit a bump egr valve is constantly shit replaced 3 time along with the egr cooler break lights keep coming up as a fault and interior is very badly fitted

I enjoy my V40 everyday for the past 3 Years. Excellent Car with zero Technicalities. Safe and Sturdy. I have owned 122S, 144S, 850, 2 x V50, 2 x S80 and now 2 x V40 - one myself and one my son. We go for Safety and Reliability.
