Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video fetures alot of babbling about the 3 diffeent throttlebodies and how they affect the ecu and perfomance, and engine control.

if i've learned anything about this sort of thing it's that you keep going despite the results. Unless your lucky and do something millions want to see, you'll be taking the road less traveled, but a certain caliber of person is able to persist down that way. Just keep going no matter what.

Great videos, good info thanks! Next thing for me will be NA intake manifold with 960 throttle plate I ground off casting marks but don't want to install until I finish sanding it shiny.

well, you are actually giving facts. no bullshit, not trying to be popular, focussed on the topic of the video: volvo performance. For me this works great. You are way more specific and detailed than, for example, Robert DIY. (full respect to Robert!) thank you, and keep up the good work!

Good luck. It is a fun mod at first and also when driving on a track or more aggressively. But if you are doing a lot of daily driving you might feel the urge to return to the stock TB after a while. but most importantly you should clean the TPS sensor (video available in my channel) to get the most out of this mod.

So, to cook it all down, the only reason to swap to the NA throttlebody is if you go full hammer on the tune with larger boostpipes, larger turbo and all that crap, right ?

If the sensor is bad will it stall on idle after starting or out of nowhere or after driving for a good while? ? that's what my Volvo been doin. 98V70XC

Do you think dirty / broken throttle body could cause jerking when slowly stepping on and off the gas? I'm being really gently, but at the moment of just stepping on, or just after completely stepping of my car jerks a few times before settling down. If I'm already slightly on the throttle in 1st gear and I floor it, this jerking doesn't happen.

I'm running a Volvo C70 2.3 T5 manual. If I put on the automatic throttle body it will be more responsive?.. Or what is the advantage?

If you are going for a lot of mods. Like NA cams. and bigger IC and turbo the auto TB is less restrictive on full throttle.. But i would guess this restriction will happen until you make over 350hp or more.?? So for your car just use the one you have. But have a look at my throttle body cleaning video. This will give your ECU a more accurate signal. The turbo hoses video is also a thing to have a look at. Many 850turbos still have the factory Boost control hoses and they are rubber and will crack with age and cause the turbo to spool up slower if there is a small leak. The biggest point i my video is to show that the stock throttle body is not restrictive. And that there are upgrades that come with "decreased driveability". and are perhaps not suited for daily driving

I'm only heading for 310-320HP, maybe 330. The engine internals will stay stock. :) I'm also going to have a look at a RIP kit. Less curves. :)

  • @Volvo5Cylinder

The RIP kit will provide better response and spoolup. so good a solid choice compared the throttlebody

  • @Volvo5Cylinder

It will leave 2 small holes where int the plate. And why would you since it really does not impact performance that much.. and adds driveability

ok. thought it might be a easier option than going for the bigger throttle body lol. but my Volvo 850 t5 station wagon pulls nicely still. only it still does not pull as my brother in laws Volvo 850 T5 sedan. his would spin into 3rd.

@@Volvo5Cylinder I have read a lot about putting a 960 throttle plate in place of the 850 GLT NA throttle plate. It is a direct fit and essentially it is the same thing without the plastic "puck". What I'm really interested is in lower end torque. The N/A 5 speed is a little under powered so when driving around town and going up hills you are either at 1500 rpm (not quite enough power to climb the hill) or down shift to get to 22-2500. In short order you are at 3000 rpm and its time to up shift again. It would be nice to be able to ease into the throttle in 4th gear and have enough power to stay in gear and climb a slight hill instead of having to hunt through the gears to find the right rpm. I'm not sure but i think this would call for the ECU to do some relearning. so disconnecting the battery would be in order. Any thoughts? Great video by the way. "lets stop dividing by zero and try to explain what we're really saying." Im going to use that one!!

@@tysauce1986 Yes the 960 is without the plastic part. so you loose contol on "part throttle". It will flow better on wide open throttle but other than that is is no use unless you change all the Intercooler piping to the same size. "Stick to stock" and you will be happrier :) it is not a bolt on part and you will have to grind the intake manifold.
