This place looks amazing and somewhere I'd love to volunteer at. Namibia is too far though being in the UK and wouldn't know about travel and accommodation etc if I was to come here. I'm also on disability benefits.

All accommodation and airport transfers are actually included in the project fee and our travel team are also on hand to help find suitable flight options from the UK. Do you also take volunteers for longer than 84 nights? like volunteers for 1 full year to work with you?

Hello, unfortunately, we do not offer volunteer projects for longer periods than 12 weeks, the maximum duration for most projects is 84 nights. Where is all the money going that the volunteers have to pay to work and help out there? Accommodation and food is pretty cheap over there so I wonder who will get all the money in the end!

Hi Catarina, the project fee does cover the accommodation and food but also covers all other direct volunteer costs including airport transfers and insurance, as well as administration costs including on-site operational and office staff, promotion, and office costs. Additionally, a large part of the fee is a direct contribution to the sanctuary and is used to help fund research equipment, construction materials, animal relocation/release fees, medical supplies and veterinary care, food for the animals, and more. The only transport not included is international flights to Namibia, but we can assist you with these if requested.
