I really appreciated this behind-the-scenes look at some practical lighting techniques for achieving beautiful, cinematic shots on a budget. The demonstration of placing lights near windows and concealing them with curtains was very helpful. It was great to see these concepts applied across different shots. The emphasis on preparation and planning shots in advance seems really valuable for saving time on set.

Your key grip using a wall spreader behind the curtains is a brilliant move! Saving that trick for future use 😮

Commented it earlier, I'll reply the same to you :) My English pronunciation is still not cool. I'm using a few AI tools to improve my original voice. And It's a little awkward to collect compliments for this, as I want the correct pronunciation to help maximize comfort in hearing and understanding the material.

@@ANDBERY I completely understand! And yea it does feel awkward lol... From my personal thoughts, I would encourage you, that this is a really great use case... I've personally had a heard time listening to the videos in the past and would find myself doing double takes to re-listen (one could argue that this would certainly help watch time, lol) but in this video I was able to fully listen to the end with no issues. Just want to say thank you for really thinking about your viewers to go the extra mile for this 🙏

Is your 18% gray 40 IRE measurement on a RAW/LOG output from the RED or is it measured with a LUT applied to Rec.709? The exposure values are different depending on if you are measuring against Log or 709 so I wanted to check to know how to apply these values to my workflow.

by the way my eyes and my brain capture the world, I often wonder how much is done to reproduce this flow with tons of equipment to come at last to another process to rework the material into material, that could please my eyes and brain. in short: why can't you just get what you see? open you eyes.
