Congrats on the purchase of a dishwasher. Just wanted to comment on a few mistakes made by technician. 1. While adding dw salt for the first time, one litre of water should be poured in first, followed by salt. Water will be displaced, which is normal. 2. Any spills during the filling should be wiped. Especially in this case the spilled rinse aid was not wiped before the start of the wash. Rinse aid is released only during the rinse cycle. Any rinse aid in the washing cycle can compromise on the washing efficiency.

Also the hard water and rinse aid setting need to be adjusted depending on where you live. If you live in a soft water area with very little calcium in your water the hard water setting needs to be changed from the default H4 to H1. And to change the rinse aid setting there is an arrow thing under the cover cap that you change using a knife or something with a flat edge, the harder the water the more rinse aid that needs to be released during wash. Too much rinse aid will leave a residue on the dishes, glasses, and the like.

Did you install booster pump also

I wondered too. I got the similar machine but not the same brand. I live in a soft water area but I still filled it up with salt. But it is on H1 and rinse aid is at 1(I used Finish Quantum which has rinse aid built in). Had it for nearly 2 years. It has never complained about being low on salt. Probably wasted a few quid buying a bag of dishwasher salt.
