Volleyball Stretching Exercises
You may think of stretching as something performed only by runners or gymnasts. But we all need to stretch in order to protect our mobility and independence.
Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. Hold a stretch for 30 seconds. Don't bounce, which can cause injury. You'll feel tension during a stretch, but you should not feel pain.
Stretching once today won't magically give you perfect flexibility. You'll need to do it over time and remain committed to the process.
This video contains most of the exercises for stretching your lower body. All these exercises should be done on the exhale. This is the first part about stretching, we will make more soon.

@@erycahausner2436 i mean. im pretty sure you have to jump in order to spike. that involves getting off the ground with your legs and taking the fall.

One of the first things I learned in athletics/sports training for warm ups is not to bounce stretch cold muscles. First thing I see here is exactly that. I'm out.

If you warm up first, like jumping jacks or jogging it's fine, but they didn't specify to do that.

might be some nerve shit. ease into the stretches that strain you more as to not cause complications

Your body might not be used to stretching so don't rush yourself do it slowly until you get used to the stretches.

I know ots been a while since you commented but if its still happening make sure to not stretch as much as possible if it starts to hurt

Is this before the game or after the game?
To be honest ,as a ballet dancer I used to do way more of these stretches and I feel like those are helpful on a level when you need less flexibility. Now as I look more into volleyball they seem easy but the exercises and the game itself seems harder. Also do you think I could play a position beside libero even if I am only 150 cm tall? I also need to explain that I am still able to grow taller and as gender a girl

@@yikesdude4742 I know, It's more about the defense and skill but like I would like to be a spiker. Another fact that might help decide is that I started gaining height again, 2.5 cm in a month or so

@@Shrinedgrimp my reach point on vertical is somewhere to 2.15 metter high now and my height started increasing too. I cannot spot train my legs rn since I have school. But It's been only a year since I started working on my jump, resistance and my body overall. It's been quite a big progress and don't think on stopping soon. I still have almost a year or a year and a bit until I'll start playing volleyball but I am practicing drills at home to prepare.

Tbh, you can be whatever the hell you want no matter how small you are, I'm 160 cm I'm like the smallest in my team but I'm the first 6 open spiker and my coach trusts me so much that I usually do for quicks and quatro spikes. (4th line spikes) For tall players they always get picked even without skills so that's kinda sucks but you can always show them your skills because Skills always wins over heights. Good luck!
