My tiguan used to release the hand brake automatically when I drove off as long as I had my seat belt on. Now I have to disengage it manually for some reason. Funny thing is I didnt know I could disengage it manually and I have had the car 11 years already. So I just found out today when I thought the hand brake was seized on or something that the automatic release isnt working anymore and I have to release it manually.

@@DIYPinto I tried that, my brake-pad change man told me he sees a wire not plugged back in properly and that might be why. I have yet to fix that. Thank you :)

The brake button is blinking AND the work PARK is there too.

Had the same problem a lot of times, the worst time, took me about an hour to be able to turn it off, also heard from my mechanic that use to happen a lot (at least on 2009 tiguan)
