Volkswagen Rear Coil Spring Replacement: The COMPLETE Guide!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The complete guide to replacing rear coil springs in a Volkswagen Passat, Jetta, Golf, and lots of other models. This How To guide will show you everything you need to know to safety and easily replace your Volkswagen Rear Coil Springs at home. Broken coil springs is an extremely common VW failure, but it's not a difficult fix. I'm specifically replacing the rear springs on my 2006 VR6 4-Motion Passat, but the suspension setups are extremely similar for most modern Volkswagens.

I was able to replace the rear coil springs on my 2007 Passat with no issues. The trickiest part was getting the bolt back in the lower control arm. The rear of my car now sits at the proper height again. Thank you very much for this very informative video.

Great Video! I had a question, My 2010 Mercedes CLS 219 had both its rear coil springs replaced recently as they were fractured. Following replacement, the rear ride height seems to be a few centimetres more than it was previously. Is this normal? In time, will the rear ride height go back to how it was on the old springs that were replaced? Many thanks in advance.

Good video but there is kinda issue. Please tighten the nut only a little thight, and apply the final amount of torque when the car is back on the ground and at final level, because it can happen, that you "turn" the bushing out of the rear shock. Greetings from Germany !
